  2. THURSDAY 17TH APRIL - IPSWICH - WHITES AND YELLOWS ROUND 2 - START TIME 7:30PM

After two successful meetings on the hard stuff as a bit of a warm up, it's now time to get serious as the Rfactor F1's make their first visit to this years World Championship Venue of Ipswich.

If you are going to become the first UK Dirt Rfactor F1 World Champion then you will have to win the 25 lap race arund this awesome raceway, and therefore practice may well be pivotal.

This is also a important meeting for the lower grade drivers out there. It's the second round of the whites and yellow's championship. Don't forget this is a points championship now, and thus any points that you score from this meeting will count towards the championship.

REMEMBER, TOMORROW'S MEETING STARTS AT 7:30PM, SO BE IN CHAT FOR 7:20PM AS THE FIRST RACE WILL SET OFF AT 7:30PM ON THE DOT.

At the time of writing this, there are 12 cars booked in, with only 4 yellows and no whites. I would be very surprised if this was to stay this way.

MoR will be your race manager for the evening and Johno will be your meeting steward.

So how would you like a blast around the track that will host Rfactor F1's biggest event? Perhaps this could be your first step on your road to gold. Get yourself booked in and find out!

    Cheers

    Kruiz

Grrr .. work forces me to miss out on another one :-(

  3. hi i have done 100s of laps just trying to get use to the game and i am now wanting to try setting up the car i have seen a cupple of setups on the rfactor site can some 1 please tell me what file to save them to i have tryed a few places and cant get them in the game  thanx andy

Where they go is in the main directory for rFactor then ....

    UserData / <USERNAME> / Settings / <TRACK NAME> / folder ...

    For me that would be:

    C:\Program Files\rFactor\UserData\Fourwinds-156\Settings\Bradfordtar (for a Bradford tar setup)

  4. Alpha channels can be used to reduce the gloss shine on the main paintwork also and can make numbers more shiny also

From my experience, I've only ever come across alpha channels for one use only and that is for transparency (black=transparent, white=opaque) and have never heard of it being use for gloss like you say, unless rFactor has some kind of hidden setting which I don't know about.

However, if what your saying is correct, I think the requirement of no alpha channels will still be the same, because we want rF to be loading as little as possible, without it having to worry about alpha channels, which are already in places on the chassis models themselves and parts of tracks.

This is the tutorial I was looking at:

  5. pussy footing round won't get you winning the world.... if it means feather bumpers... minimal contact.... tell where that comes into Stock Car racing... or have i been watching for 30 years a totally different formula that you call stock car ????

Well I would not put John Lund or Frankie Wainman Senior into the big hitter category of Brisca racers yet both have been very successful by being skillful and nudging.

  6. why do this type of post bring people out of the wood work mmmmmm :3:

To laugh that the comments on this page.... I THOUGHT IT SAID RFACTOR F1! when i clicked on the icon, i still read about the 1's... and when i get more time or the odd nite free i will return and have a blast round.. but reading this might have to take the bumpers of steel off and replace them with a contact bleeping warning device by the sounds of it

It might sound like that ... but perhaps the other way to think about it is ... common curtesy ...

We are all playing a game .......... check

We are all here to have fun .......... check

Hitting people fairly is fun .......... check

Racing hard is normal ........... check

Fencing people just because .......... not checked

Spoiling someones evening .......... not checked

This is a contact sport we all are saying that ... The new people are just trying to find out the level of contact that is considered acceptable and fun. There is no point fencing someone just because and then not being able to race online for the next 'X' amount of time .... Far better in that situation to not fence then and race next week with slightly less points!

  7. However most drivers in real life are respectfull of each other and have the courtesy to move over and not ruin drivers races who are a lap up.

    You should watch Murray Harrison!!

And see where that got him at Kings Lynn!

  8. Hi

Before I start I am in no way complaining, moaning or spitting out the dummy.

In one of my heats last night I was leading by a considerable margin and ended up passing a couple of back markers, however on the last bend of the last lap I was trying to get past another when I was caught by someone who I had lapped, and ended up on the infield. By the time I had recovered I crossed the line in 6th place.

After much swearing and cursing at the monitor I had a look at the replay and put it down to a pure racing accident, FILTERED happens.

In the final I started from the third row from the back and managed to get into 8th place when I was involved in an accident and once again ended up on the infield. By the time I had got off the sleepers I was in last place and had been lapped by a few drivers. I managed to claw my way up to 16th and ended up behind a driver who had lapped me and I was lapping at a similar speed.

    Here's the dilema.

Do I sit behind him and wait for him to make a mistake, or do I try move him with my bumper risking spinning him and ruining his race and maybe get a complaint against me, bearing in mind I dont know if he is first or tenth

Please feel free to comment and maybe admin would like to clarify the rules on this situation.

    :2:

    Mr Beef

Personally I would sit behind him .. but that is just me ... and I have been told I'm too easy on people.
