  1. always a few ie budge, trav and spike that would always give you a hard it back but you always knew it was coming so you always hit them a wee bit harder to try and ensure they couldn't get you back next bend.

But without us racing it wouldn't have been so much fun back in the days of Heat, many a laugh and many many good battles

Totally different concept these days Aub, & have to agree with everything you said above, And probably the reason i no longer race UK Dirt, R factor just isn't for me,

But nice to see you back racing, Enjoy yourself and see you around the tracks (real life) soon

  2. Yeh Dave thats me done from ukdirt think the new rules are over the top in f2s and after over 10 years of racing online i just cant get the enthusaim to be botherd to race.

I might race one last meeting to go out in style

Started together finish together think i might drag the wheel out and come a play, and like you trav call it a day

Sorry to see this Trav, although I would say if you all bothered to read the additional rules section they are only for the remainder of the season to sort things out as they were getting out of control and most of those racing week in week out agree they were needed.

2013 we are planning to go to rules very similar to the F1 mod so people will get a lot more rope before they hang themselves.

Yea it would be good to see these lads stick around. I have had some good racing with each of them in the past. Unfortuantly they haven't raced much this year so don't have full understanding of what we in admin had to go through and the full reason behind each of the rules implemented. Like Drumb says they are only till the close of this season just to get control.

I'm sorry Drum and southy but at the end of the day what admin are left will turn F2's into superstox, i understand what went on behind admins doors because i was behind them long before you all came knocking, but if you stuck up for what ukdirt was about all them years ago you got shut out... But at the end of the day... i still say you'll what i highlighted in red.... hopefully see ya on the 5th ;)

  3. Ain't it funny that the guys that have the issues with the new rules are ones that have not raced recently... how can they give their opinion on the rules. if they had raced recently then they would have understood more.

Just because i don't race doesn't mean that i don't understand the rules, so can't see what your getting at southy, i've watched real life 2's for 20+ years, never raced them but i still know the rules, all i was saying was your rules have changed again.... just an example of the new rules YOU all wrote...

    A.) Following drivers in.

A follow in will be classed as pushing another car all the way to the fence, or on tracks with wider corners(ie Birmingham) pushing the car the majority of the way to the fence with the sole purpose of causing them to make significant contact with the fence.

Any driver that is classed as following another driver in will be loaded up from the meeting and a minimum 1 meeting ban will be enforced. A second offence of following another driver in will result in a minimum 1 month ban. A third offence will result in the driver being banned for the remainder of the season.

560 1 week ban Multiple followins,

Now i sure i read the above rule different to the ban you gave out, UNLESS you want to re-word your new rule... and say on different meetings, but that opens a can of worms for you doesn't it... and still in my opion, pushing a car majority of the way is no way and never will be a follow in... even in poof-stox (superstox) it isn't a follow in !!!

  4. http://www.ukdirtforum.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=234243

I know you changed Admin got ridge of old gits who like the F2's and defends what F2's are bout and didn't want them turned into supers with big wings..... to get what was it.... harder against bad driving.... strict with people... blah blah blah

AND THEN YOU READ THIS..... JOKE LADS GET REAL.... pinning... oppo... followin's ... you name it and it's there... and the max ban is 2 weeks.... scared of losing drivers and having 10 car turn out.... I THINK SO !!!!!!

Well at least it's the funniest post i read in a long while thanks for that.... And i didn't have to look at a single replay

  5. really does depend when your 48.... think mav a i joined ukdirt about same time, 10 years or have i done 11 getting old i really can't remember now, real life started for me in the mid 70's watching supers and the likes around a post and rope foxhall, never missed a meeting there from 1980 - 1995, and haven't been back since well i go when the Brisca F1's are on, but haven't done that for 2 years, and i live 5 minutes from it... 92 turn my eyes to F2's, not looked back since, and now follow them uip and down the country...

So Mav you were nearly the oldest racer here.... did you forget me... Must be that i look a lot younger than you M8 :)... now it looks like i am :( unless Big andy was born before August

  6. Didn't expect that (shocked to say the least)

Ht1 spiro missed and did i just win that lol

Ht2 tried to run the kerbs and take drum with me, but you got me wd m8

Ht3 seemed to get away and no one really threatened me

Final. tosh re-join, clipped me and put me right off lol

Gn. what a race, toshs interferants helped imo to make the race as good as it was... And Si fantastic stuff m8, as it should be proper stock car, Wd drum for joining us and coming though the winner.

    Well run gary

Thx all and see you soon

After what has been the closest world qualifying points race in recent memory, we finally settled the grids at Barford on the first of August, below is a preview on each of the qualifiers.

    SEMI 1:

On paper this race looks by far the harder of the two races, as it contains no less than the current World, points, British, European, Scottish & Gold cup champions as well as a former world champion.

    ROW 1

    post-855-1313095956.jpg

    Danskin 236:

Grabbing pole by just a handful of points at the last round, nobody can argue Dan is the in form driver throughout UKDirt at the moment having recently picked up the F1 & F2 British titles in quick succession, and adding the Saloon European a few weeks later. If he can survive the first lap carnage then he should go on to win this one. Prediction: Win

    post-855-1313095968.jpg

    Drumbstick 1:

Reigning world champion Drumbstick has had a bit of a mixed year, and has finished second in no less than 3 championships, including the British and UK Open. A strong average and a Scottish championship have been some consolation. Drum and Danskin clashed in the recent gold cup meeting, which resulted in Danskin facing the wrong way and Drum picking up yet another second place will there be payback? Prediction: Top 3

    ROW 2

    post-855-1313095979.jpg

    Dode 151:

Dode will be retuning from a few weeks ban at this meeting, so should be fresh and eager to get back in the groove quickly. Dode had a stellar start to the season, leading the points after the first grading period he has settled in well at Superstar. A great drive to win the F1 European recently proves he has the racecraft when the mood takes him, but a short temper can sometimes make him an unpredictable presence. Prediction: Top 5

    post-855-1313095987.jpg

    Tosh 164:

Tosh picked up his first major rFactor title at the European a few weeks ago, and with the world final being on his preferred surface of shale he must fancy his chances if he can come away with a good result here. Starting from Outside row two may not be the optimum place, but with a long run down to turn 1 Tosh has the savvy to make it work for him and nobody would be surprised to see him leading out of turn 2. Prediction: Top 10

    ROW 3

    post-855-1313095996.jpg

    Leek 39:

Like Tosh, Leek has recently picked up a his first title and the semi final meeting should be the first time we see him wearing the gold stripe. Also like Tosh, Leek much prefers the loose stuff and must fancy himself in the world final if he can get a good result in his semi final. Prediction: Top 3

    post-855-1313096005.jpg

    Dave 488:

Head of F2 admin, Dave puts in more work than anyone to make sure we can race week in week out. Unlike the previous two drivers Dave much prefers racing on the hard stuff. Often has more pace than I think even he realises, as long as he believes he can qualify going in to the race then should have no problems doing so. Prediction: Top 10

    ROW 4

    post-855-1313096015.jpg

    Hooty 256:

Hooty has not raced much in recent weeks, preferring instead to steward and keep a watchful eye over everyone else, sizing up the competition perhaps? Every time someone writes one of these previews they mention Hooty as a former banger world champion, but that disguises some raw pace the "Chippy Comet" often displays. Should easily qualify and a top 5 is not out of the question.
    Prediction: Top 10

    post-855-1313096024.jpg

    Lew 495:

Never afraid to mix it with anyone, Lew has been quick at times this season but his reputation as a hard hitter seems to be growing quicker. No doubt Lew will be planning to shake things up in turn 1, and most of the cars infront will be glad he is on the outside. Prediction: Just to miss out

    ROW 5

    post-855-1313096034.jpg

    Lee 531:

2009 world champion Lee has not raced much in 2011, but when he has there has been plenty to suggest he has not lost any of his raw speed. Starting just inside the top 10, and on the inside I fancy Lee to put himself in prime position for the big race be sneaking inside the top 5. Prediction: Top 5

    post-855-1313096042.jpg

    Skeet - 318

Skeet cannot race the world final, so has decided to give up his semi final place to a reserve.

    ROW 6

    post-855-1313096059.jpg

    Johno - 632

Johno has struggled at times this season on tarmac, but his huge F1 experience has given him the know how of how to get a result when you need it the most and I think this should be enough to see him qualify. Rumour has it that Johno might even have a new car for the occasion, although I am not sure he knows it yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Prediction: top 10

    post-855-1313096074.jpg

    Robin H87:

2010 National points champion Robin has been conspicuous by his absence this season, murmurings are he has a girlfriend who is keeping him busy but I think he is still being flogged from claiming he is a honouree Englishman I am just not by which side!!!!!!!!!!!! Prediction:Top 10

    ROW 7

    post-855-1313096092.jpg

    Scootaah 129:

New to UKdirt in 2010 Scootah quicky established a reputation as a hard hitter, however a number of race wins including a final have proved when he gets his head down he has natural raw pace. I think he should sneak in to the top 10 here, although one things for sure he will be buried in Johno's back bumper in turn 1. Prediction:Top 10

    post-855-1313096102.jpg

    Jedd 65:

Jedd will be banned for his semi final, so will not be racing

    ROW 8

    post-855-1313096111.jpg

    Si 31:

Not the first real F2 racer on the semi final grid, but the only one to suffer a serious injury in 2011, after hitting the wall hard at Taunton. Despite this Si has been an almost ever present and has showed a steady improvement throughout the season. If Si had drawn semi 2 I might fancy him to make it but in what is no doubt the harder looking of the two races I think he may just miss out. Prediction: Just to miss out

    post-855-1313096120.jpg

    Samwit 954:

Another driver new to UKDirt in 2011, and another to quickly build a reputation as a hard hitter. A strong first grading period forced Sam up to Red to soon, but having now settled at the lower grades he is no doubt a driver who can establish himself higher up in time. Prediction: Just to miss out

    ROW 9

    post-855-1313096131.jpg

    Harold 599:

Long time UKDirt racer Harold may have made some enemies at times, but by turning up more often than not and plugging away he has also earned the respect of his competitors. Will probably struggle from this far back, but if it becomes a race of attrition then he may sneak in. Prediction: Just to miss out

    post-855-1313096142.jpg

    Leech 774:

New F2 admin Leech has not raced as much as he would have liked in 2011, and as a result has sometimes struggled from Red. No doubt he is a talented driver, and if he was a few rows further forward I think he would be a nailed on certainty to qualify however with such a quality field he may find it hard from back here. Prediction: Just to miss out

    ROW 10

    post-855-1313096153.jpg

    Gary 79:

Former Scottish champion Gary has been limited for time this season, due to crashing his real car a bit too often. A driver with undoubted speed when he puts the time in, he has struggled this season and I think the task may be a bit hard from back here. Prediction: just to miss out

    post-855-1313096163.jpg

    Rudeboy 473:

A driver who has struggled in the F2 mod and I think for this reason has not raced much in the past couple of months. He will probably not qualify, but I hope he takes his place on the grid, as he has done very well to qualify ahead of some very quick drivers. Prediction: just to miss out
  8. i was and don't know why either, it booted me just when we went for gn and never bothered to re join. will see if it happens next week, if it does i haven't a clue either m8

enjoyed last night even if i didn't do that well, went for a big pile of cars in heat 2 and ended up following someone in (gary i think) oops, so hitting didn't work and the final choose the wrong side of dave coming outta bend, and that was that over with, booted from gn... so i should say i enjoyed Ht1 lol

  9. try silver with a bee on the side cab panels ;)

got 1 of him being carried off at yarmo with a landrover at the front and back and no wheels on it.

class driver of his time,, him and brandy 2 of my fav drivers in the early 80's,

hope you find something m8 would be nice to see a reto neil bee car gracing the supers

Have you tried here m8 http://www.retrostox.co.uk/index.htm

    post-38-1306193563.jpg

  10. great pics drumb thanks for posting them, you caught 1 of my many crashes from last night perfectly lol

Did you mean 1 of my many c*ck ups & that 1 you couldn't avoid :scared15:

    Great pictures Drum :appl:

  11. Enjoyed last nite, probably my first proper meeting on shale and i can't seem to get the dirty stuff right on r factor, took me 3 races to get it sort of right, and without kendo (btw wd m8) blasting away from me and into the distance i had a pretty clear run with no yellows in the GN, found myself leading but with leek catching fast for 17 3/4 laps, coming out of turn 2 i could see spike going slow down back straight and backed off to miss him looked top left corner of screen to see how far leek was behind..... SH*T not heat bottom right idiot.... at that point leek dived under me and was a mad dash for the line, 0.02 close but no cigar, WD m8, been plenty of times i've destroyed your race on the last bend, and you came passed me as always fairly,

I'll give sheffield a practice before i venture out on the dirty stuff again,

  12. An option would be to remove the joining fee and allow registered members access to practice sessions for 2 weeks before they pay anything. There would need to be practice sessions for this to work.

All General Admin and 2nd Tier Admin would have to be happy to take on the extra hassle associated with this but it would probably help with new members.

Id be interested to know the views of the admin team members on these proposals as considering the original post was put up almost a week ago the official response has been underwhelming. Can an official response on the proposed "taster" sessions or "open weekends" be expected or are admin happy with the current number of 15 die-hards who turn up week in & week out to continue?. I feel that admin have a role to play in fostering a community feel & in promoting the mod's future, & whilst I dont totally agree with Mav's comments on elitism there is clearly work to be done in welcoming new people who want to try the mod out. Without an official response we are left to speculate on what those who run the mod really want & that can often be totally wide of the mark.C'mon admin, people are offering their time & expertise with set-ups here, do you want the help or not??

    Firstly great post MAV

I'm 2nd tier admin, what we really want, everything to run smoothly, no complaints, driving standards to improve, and mostly everyone to be happy and enjoy themselves!!!! don't think you realize how much work Drum and dave put into running the 2's mod, they spend hours and hours sorting out things behind the scene's along with gary, tom and spike sorting the meeting and posters out, i stick my oar in with complaints, So please think before shooting admin down about the role we have to play,

Of course we what more people and no 15 die hards isn't enough, please put up some constructive things on this post so we can put them all in the pot and sort this all out,

As for practice... In heat days someone would post on a sunday a time they would be there in the server that evening and people would just come along and join in though out the evening, no one seems to do that these days, i stayed after the meeting on monday but within 5 minutes of it finishing everyone had gone and i just blasted around all alone, 1 thing i would say is that the track needs to be changed to the following weeks meeting, that's where the practice is needed and not the track we have just raced.

I'd give up a sunday evening when i could,(Believe me i have given up hours and hours (days) in heat days helping new comers) But as a poor excuse of a white top in rfactor wouldn't be much help, but i'd be there and try and give advice if i could.
