vivadave
I was just wondering the easest way to create decal sheets in Paint Shop Pro 7, i know its easy to find various pics that can be used, is it just a matter of pasting tham on a blank canvas, and cutting them out as needed? Some decals are easy to cut out, and others you have to cut out perfectly to avoid having any back ground on it, ideally i would prefer to make some sheets that are easy to cut out, unless theres an easier way other try to cut it out perfectly.... Any help would be great.... Vivadave169....
Rikard
To make a decal sheet one of the best ways is to have all the decals visible on the sheet, all on their own individual clearly labelled layer, so its easy for the user to identify and then highlight, copy and paste it on to a template. I’m not sure of the tools used in Paintshop Pro, but if your cutting out a decal from a photo i'd imagine a combination of cutting and using the "magic wand" or ideally create the decals from scratch, then the outline would be perfect. mcrew
I use PSP, and have created myself a folder dedicated to just decals. When I use the magic wand or select tool to copy a decal, I always save the decal with the cut/copy dotted outline over/around the decal. That way the next time you wish to use the decal, the outline is always ready to use, rather than spending ages highlighting the area that you want. The London Allstar
Im not sure about other versions of photoshop, but on mine (version 9 cs2) if you right click the eraser tool you get something called backgroud eraser tool, just cloick that once on the background and then switch back to the normal eraser. And remove all the backgroud
vivadave
Still having problems here, whatever i do i always have background, the pics i have have white backgrounds, and cannot seem to highlight just the pic, like on the decal sheets with the gray and white squares on them, you can just cut out any decal, doesnt have to be perfect but when pasted onto template it is perfect with no background.... Will it be easier using Photoshop for this? if so what version? Any help would be great, or you have the time add me on msn vivaarriva1969@hotmail.com Example.... Vivadave169.... mcrew
You need to use the selection then magic wand tool to outline Homie, then cut or copy homie, minimise the original image and then left click, then save the image as a new one. That should give you Homer on no background. Simply select and out line him on the new image and save the image once again, then the next time you open the image up, hes already selected to be copied onto whatever you want. The problem Ive found is that any images you save from say Google search, unless it is just the 'pure' image/outline, will nearly always have a coloured background that you will have to cut off
