Pinnacle Studio does the job at a decent price and has lots of effects, transitions etc. You can spend a shed load of cash if you want to though, depends really what you want to do but for editing meetings Pinnacle would do the job fine.
jamesy Posted June 15, 2007 Author Report Posted June 15, 2007 (edited) thanks trash ill have a look for it m8 edit just found it pretty cheap too.it does'nt really say weather i can use the dvd that i filmed it on to edit it its says somthing about a firewire port?whats that? Edited June 15, 2007 by jamesy
Guest Trash Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 I don't have firewire Jamesy. I use a free program called mplayer getdvd2 which you use to rip the dvd disc to your hard drive. When it rips it, it converts it to an MPEG file which is readable by Pinnacle. There is a bit about it here http://videofriends.goldenpenproductions.c...page=2&key=
Guest Scrapman53 Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Firewire is just a port that your video camera plugs into. It's much faster than USB so capturing is made quicker. You can buy a Firewire card quite cheap I would think and it plugs into a PCI slot on your motherboard. But if your camera uses DVDs to record onto, Stu's method will be best.
jamesy Posted June 15, 2007 Author Report Posted June 15, 2007 thanks for the helps guys, one thing though is lots of diffrent dvd players are either r+ or r- is it possable to buy region free or x dvd disc's? as that could cause me a headache when producing them for resale. martyn
jamesy Posted June 15, 2007 Author Report Posted June 15, 2007 got a pinnacle version 10.5 now so hopefully that will do the job.new video camera records onboth disc +/- so thats a little bit eayer life i hope
jamesy Posted June 25, 2007 Author Report Posted June 25, 2007 having a we problem using that pinnacle 10.5 it wont let me attacth the clips from th meeting to put togeather and edit ect does'nt reconise it? is that because i have to finalaise the dvd rw disc first? if so i'm buggerd as you cant view it till u finalise it
Guest Trash Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 Did you rip the footage to your PC using an mpeg converter? Pinnacle wont read standard DVD formats if you are putting the DVD disc straight into the computer to try and edit it.
