ive just seen this on the national hot rod forum :-

 

Hi all

 

I received a call earlier to let me know of the death of former English Champion and true gent of Nationals John Carding.He had been ill for some time but lost his fight last night (Friday)John was a genuine helpfull man who always had a smile and sound advise for we younger and less knoledgable pepole in the pitts and will be missed by a lot off people.Thoughts with family R.I.P. John.

 

I remember john well from all the mispent hours at foxhall stadium in my youth

You really couldn't meet a nicer guy with a genuine smile and John will be sadly missed. As a kid I always had a little car with a number 7 sticker on it playing on the carpet. He has raced everything in Hot Rods from a mini through to the escort's, starlets and 205. I watched him throught the 80's and his win the English in 94 at Birmingham and his last race at the 95 World Final.

 

He had been battling his illness for some time now and he will be sadly missed
