splinter Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 Just seen this article from last week's New York Times! http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/24/automobi...al/24GAMES.html Nextel Cup Nascar driver, A. J. Allmendinger and Elliot Sadler use video and computer simulation games to prepare for ther Nextel Cup season. Allmendinger is a regular at the site rfactorcentral.com, where “I’ll play online against real people,” he said. One of his usual opponents, he added with a chuckle, didn’t believe it was really him — until he kept winning. Still, there are limits. “It’s pretty similar to the real thing, until you wreck in a game, hit escape and start again,” Allmendinger said.
freew67 Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 I raced against AJ last Tues night in TPSCC. Now if he could be as fast in real life as he was online
splinter Posted November 1, 2007 Author Report Posted November 1, 2007 that might be partly down to his equipment and crew than his driving. I think he'll come good next season...if he can stop crashing
MarcG Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 (edited) yeah I raced against A. J. Allmendinger last year at a league called R.A.C.E.R. think he was in the top 5 but certainly did'nt blitz the field in anyway! Edited November 1, 2007 by MarcG
