More sound problems......

Please help, I have sound break up and crackling in all mods and the original Heat demo   Each time I go from the menu screens to the racing there are a series of crackles, then the sound is broken up to differing degrees.

 

I'm running with the following sytem:

 

Athlon 2500+

1Gb 3200 RAM

Nforce2 M/B

Geforce 6600GT forceware 71.89

Soundblaster Audigy

Windows XP SP2

 

Have tried the following to fix it:

 

1. downloading and re-installing all files

2. 3 sets of soundcard drivers

3. played with latency settings

4. played with program priority settings

5. running in compatabilty mode

 

no joy at all..

 

any thoughts?

Most people normally get this problem aswell sometimes, when I get it it's normally in bangers, I just close down heat and start it up again and just solves the problem, sometimes it doesnt and I have 2 use car manager to swap to a different skinpack then swap back then normally works, give it a try if you havent already...

I noticed it wasn't as bad in the other mods and restarting does help.  Glad it's not just me anyway

 

I went online for my first real session last night and just put up with it.  Thoroughly enjoyed myself btw
