Weird Problem

When scrolling down with the bar on the right hand side of the screen, the arrow sometimes jumps to a random point on the screen.

 

Sometimes my computer is missing letters out of words when I type.

 

Any idea what the problem is and how I can resolve it?

 

I am using a Dell Laptop, and just the mouse pad below the keyboard.

I have same problem sometimes, but with a mouse attached too.

 

I think the laptop takes a "Restore Point" every now and then causing the laptop to freeze for milliseconds and then refreshes itself.
