The London Allstar Posted March 18, 2009 Report Share Posted March 18, 2009 Hi, over the last 2 week i have had a really anoying problem with my mouse which up until now i have tired to fix with no hoy and now its got to the point where its driving me mad. Basically i will be using the mouse, say browsing the ukdirt forum and all of a sunny i will loose control of the point and it will whizz about all over the screen and it obviously presses the buttons too as loads of stuff opens and i get the start menu pop up or the window im looking at closed. THis happens roughly every 15 ish minutes and lasts for about 10 seconds. I have made sure that it is plugged in correctly and i have even reinstalled the drivers for the mouse, i've run out of ideas now, is it just a busted mouse? It's a Logitech optical mouse with a cable if that makes a difference Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The London Allstar Posted March 19, 2009 Author Report Share Posted March 19, 2009 hmm thats what i thought at first, so the first thing i did was check my firewall was on and did a few virus scans to see if i could find any trojans and had a manual route around but came up with nothing. The London Allstar Posted April 8, 2009 Author Report Share Posted April 8, 2009 ok right i tried my old roller ball and it works fine with no problems, I decided to complete uninstall and re install my drivers for my optical mouse and re install it. This has stopped the loss of control problem, but when trying to play a game which uses the mouse as a pointer, for example when doing a shooting game it just goes to the right constantly the only way to stop it is to drag the mouse to the left, but this means you cant move left and if you hold the mouse still it jsut goes back to the right It is as if i need resetting somehow.
