Using Vista game crashes every time I go to join or create a multiplayer game. Running in 98/ME compatability and as admin. any ideas?

have you patched to 1.72e?

 

oh also, if you're running dual or multi-core, i seem to remember it was recommended that you run in single-core mode....

Ah, no I havn't cheers.

 

How do I run in single core mode... something in the BIOS?

Naa still the same with the patch. Wokred fine ages ago when I had XP on this PC although I cant remember if I had the dual core then or not...

To run in single core you do the following

 

Open the mod/game

TAB out onto your desktop

Ctrl + Alt + Delete and go into task manages "processes"

Find the processes called Heat.Bin and NHeat.exe and right click on each and choose "set affinity" then choose the core (untick the one you wish to run it on, you MUST put both processes on the same core)

Job done.

 

When you close the game you then have to do it again when you re open it.

Opens with it set like in the picture, and regardless of combination its still crashing when going online (Trying to create server or join).

 

Mabye try reinstalling it all
