2010 British Championship

Congratulations to Mike #315 for winning a bruising British Championship race, after dominating the heats to start on pole.

 

Some heats were a bit sparse due to the non arrival of 543, 97 & 7 and the withdrawal of 184 prior to the meeting started, but happily all 8 heats went ahead, with heat 8 being the least amount of drivers being 11.

Every driver had the opportunity to race five heats.

I elected to withdraw from the grid to steward the race and join on the back after the go was called.

I however forgot to do an extra lap to compensate for the rolling lap and was already 1 lap down when I started racing!!! lol

My grid slot would have been 8th row inside with everyone else moving down a place.

Was'nt really expecting much tonight as I dont like tarmac, but for me to get a top 6 in all the races all night was a big achivement for me, espcially the 6th in the final when i was in a few big hits and then involved in that carnage on the 2nd bend.

 

Well done to all winners and well done to mike for winning the British.

Enjoyed last night very thoroughly, even if the climax of the evening was short lived for myself amongst others. Following on from this I would like to apologise to Dave who I attempted to punt wide as soon as I got going again but we both went spinning violently, further apologies to Nezza who I put into a parked car in similar fashion to what happened to me apart from it was all my fault, driving far too hard and just couldn't stop. Thought you said you would get a good start Mike lol.

 

Had some good racing throughout the night, agreed with Tosh after though that the track carries some rather different tactics to overtake. With it being not very wide you punt somebody on or get past cleanly however you end up eating fence the next bend as thats the only way you can make a move on a slower driver etc without loosing a major amount of time getting punted on repeatedly every bent between the pair of you. Contradicting the above it was shown between a few of us we can have great close fast paced racing by giving each other the room and respect needed to overtake whilst gaining track position amongst other drivers.

 

Thanks to Mav for running, shame about people deciding to disconnect repeatedly at the beginning hence the start being 15 minutes late??

no problems or complaints from me about that move Lee. I thought it was a cracking move to be honest mate and happens in real life. it is stockcars after all lol and i would have tried to do the same thing if it were the other way round.

 

totally agree with you as well about the passing, it is simply the nature of this track unfortunately, which is why i'm glad to see the back of that meeting. it is probably my most hated and worst track for me.

 

Anyway, wd to all the winners and to Mike for taking the title.

 

apologies from me also, to spikejnr, can't remember which heat it was but i went for a hit on him at the same time he pulled out of my way to let me by, which took me by surprise and the brakes went on to late as a result and i ended up pretty much in the wall with him. Just wanted to let you know that it weren't intentional mate, as i'm sure it came across to you as a follow in.

 

Forgot to add - can someone on admin reload the skin packs to the server please just to make sure of all possibilities? as the servers have been trying to kick me for a couple of weeks now for whatever reason. I have now done a complete re-install, so I cant see how it will be something my end in the future.

You did do the patch for the kitson after the main F2s didn't you? I saw someone with a similar problem in a server last week....

I thought I had Wrighty to be honest. anyway I have completely re-installed the f2 mod now, so I know that it has definately been done this time round.

 

hopefully no more problems in the future.

 

just thought as well Wrighty, it was trying to kick me when i was in my own car, but as soon as I went in a novice it was fine.

im very sorry for my very bad driving i never fort it was that bad 2 be classed as followin just i tried to race my best but never worked out soz to every1 who i took out im very sorry shoulnt happen again and nezza m8 no poblems i never even remberd it bec i got really bad memery and i would m8 ur cool =p
