UKDirt F1 Stockcars – Kings Lynn – 8:30PM – 26 July 2012

World Championship Semi Final #1

As shown here, the Semi Final grids for 2012 have been confirmed. In the run to the 2012 World Championship TomD #112 topped the qualifying points, pipping DanSkin #236 by just 3 points, both being clear of the remaining drivers by over 100 points. Defending World Champion Mike #1 headed the pack followed by dode #151 and Johno #3.

TomD picked the Kings Lynn Semi Final and so the grid forms up as follows:

TomD’s consistent performances over the qualifying rounds guaranteed him a pole position for one or the other of the Semi Finals – his best score coming at Sheffield in April this year which included a second place in the final, he also took the meeting final at the Belle Vue qualifying round earlier this month.

Taking the remaining front row spot is dode #151 – having just returned to superstar grade he will be looking for a result on the road to replacing his old European roof with a nice shiney gold one. His best qualifying score came on the slippy stuff at Mildenhall, so perhaps this bodes well.

Row two belongs to Johno #3 and stoxjack #249, the former finding his best scoring on tarmac this season while the latter has been more at home on shale picking up two heats and a grand national on his way to his best qualifying score at Kings Lynn earlier in the year.

Another driver picking up more points on the tarmac holds the inside of row 3, green #115 however he did also pick up a few race wins at Kings Lynn. Outside of row 3 sits Spike #221, no doubt he will be very pleased with this semi final draw having taken 3 heats and the final at the Kings Lynn meeting back in May!

Bailey #98 has made it all the way to row 4 in just 6 qualifying rounds and starts alongside the new European Champion Marten #291. Both drivers found their best scoring form at Ipswich at the end of June when Bailey took the meeting final with Marten finishing in third place.

Rows 5 and 6 include the Coventry qualifying round final winner hoggy #92, as well as Mattyaspin #300 and Lithgow #600 who had healthy meetings last time at Kings Lynn scoring 21 and 46 points respectively. Southy #277 is also a part of this pack, he's a driver certainly looking more at home on the shale with heavy scoring at the Coventry and Belle Vue qualifying rounds.

The mid-pack includes Sheffield qualifying round final winner jakiejnr #305 and towards the back of the grid we find the two drivers to have qualified for this Semi Final with the fewest number of meetings attended (3) - Timm #504 and dougieford #520. Timm had a profitable meeting at Coventry earlier this year while dougieford picked up most of his points at the June Northampton meeting.

Good luck to everyone racing! :king:
