SEASON KICKSTART IN THE 2ND CITY

Here we go, March has finally arrived and it feels brilliant to be able to wave the long winter months away as its time for the Brisca Big League, F1 Stockcars to kick start their 2013 season. Its going to be done in fine style as well in one of the most popular tarmac ovals in the UK, Birmingham Wheels in the 2nd city will provide the opening action tomorrow and its certain, surely, we are in for an absolute cracker of a night around this track!

At the time of writing 40 Brisca F1 Stockcars are booked to attend to pump the wonderful noise of the V8 Chevys for the first time which is a superb turnout. Multi Champion 236 DanSkin has his work cut out this year as he has a very long list of titles he has to aim to defend, one of those of course being the coveted gold roof which he took on the tarmac of Skegness in 2012. With the world final being on shale this year at the Norfolk Arena I wonder how his chances will be on defending. If you go back to the end of last year the last ever race competed was the Champion of Champions race in which Dan did take victory in as well, looking back at his titles I suppose it was relevant for him to win that one! European champion from Holland Marten in 291 will be starting 2013 flying the red and yellow checkereds until July when the European is contested again, can be repeat the title with it being at the same venue?

233 Grasser starts his season debuting a new car in the scheme of Steve Cayzers old car when he was sponsored by Benson Box, look out for the flying red machine tomorrow! 184 Chevykiller was new to the F1 Season in 2011 and what a year he had, starting at white grade and becoming one of the main drivers in the formula to date, he is joined at the red grade by the Morgans of 249 and 238 and Leek in 39 is also booked to compete.

The blue grade sees a fair share of the real life F1 boys booked in to compete with the online scene. 90 Liam Brown who dominated the Gala Night with a handful of great results in real life will be looking to repeat his performance online and 89 Alex Montague was in great form in the pre season warm up meeting and starts from blue. 24 Richard Skeels looks to make a return in an F1 Stockcar this week after having a hectic year at work in 2012, how will his return be! Southy in 277 is back for more racing in 2013, a driver with many years of experience behind him. Tim Verstappen usually as H552 has changed his racing number this year to 84.

Looking at the yellow grade and it certainly looks strong! 122 Craig is booked to attend from the yellow grade and I wonder what surface he will prefer in 2013? Regular man Spike in 221 spike joins Craig at yellow. Samuel Powell 246 joins the yellow grader in his lowest grade in some time after usually being a regular red grader in various other leagues. He is joined by brother Liam 380 who will start at the yellow grade as well. Kids favourite driver 274 Bigdave is here to entertain them at this opening meeting.

The white grade looks to be the grade to watch though, a large list of them all booked in containing some new competition to add to the F1s. 40 Leighton Holroyd has come on in leaps and bounds over the winter with an investment in a better racing PC so will be one to look out for from the front. 237 Ricky James will be on the hunt for a higher grade this season, he spent last year learning the ropes and the car, his aim must be a bit higher this year. 330 Tyler Wilkin could be interesting to keep an eye on as well from the front as well as Fransie Burhenne in 419 who always seems to go well in an F1 Stockcar. 491 Crewesader another driver with much online experience will be out to start his 2013 off. From north of the border 79 Ryan Sharp will be in attendance.

Plus many many more, the booking list looks awesome for this first meeting and it looks like you are all going to be part of a season opener to remember. Lots of talent throughout the field and of course the bookings still open for many more still to add themselves to the nights entertaining.
