It’s World Final night once again, the culmination of your efforts over the last 12 months on the “Road-to-Gold”. Congratulations to those who have already qualified, and good luck to those looking to make it through from the Consolation Semi-Final tonight. Ordinarily we would have 4 spots up for grabs, but due to disciplinary issues and non-bookings tonight we will have 5 drivers progress to the World Final.

 

As usual Stumpy joins us to undertake some stewarding duties, I’m told he’s even donned his sparkly gold waistcoat for this special occasion! In addition to mentioning Stumpy to thank him once again… I’d like to remind you all that this is supposed to be something like F1 stockcar racing and that bangers can be found on a Tuesday evening - please do remember this, or at least accept the consequences of driving inappropriately with good grace! We have regularly dealt with offenders throughout the season, and it is a shame to see drivers missing the World Final as a consequence (my thanks to those of you who are here, and are evidently not banned!).

 

For me, it has been a pleasure to race another year as World Champion, there have been many excellent races and a few new friends have been made along the way.
