gradient help

Hi guys how can achieve this wavy effect in the gradient using photoshop cs5 ?

The way i do it is,

Make a big rectangle on a new layer,

right click - warp and at the very top there should be an option for changing the shape, should say like wavy, flag, fish eye etc

I use flag then you can free transform it to suit

 

Then its a case of putting the layer on top of your sign layer and right clicking then create clipping mask and it will go inside your sign, merge together and job done

 

Usually i do the gradient on the bumpy bits first then rasterize then warp it or it will end up looking funny
