Leeroy186 Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 My pc kept shutting down without any warning within a minute or two of it starting up. I thought it was overheating but the cpu temperature is fine and all fans are working. My next thing to fiddle with, was the power supply unit so I unscrewed it from the case and left it hanging out of the pc and now the pc works fine! But if I screw the psu back into the case, the pc starts shutting down again??!! Does anyone have any idea why the pc works fine with the psu out of the case?! Cheers
Lakey508 Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 Hi Lee, I had the same a problem few years ago my PSU was shorting out on the case drove me LA LA for ages I was also told it could be that the PSU is overheating. Hope that helps, Lakey
Leeroy186 Posted September 14, 2005 Author Report Posted September 14, 2005 Cheers Lakey that confirms it for me that its the psu. I'll just leave it hanging out then and get a new one when it gets hoovered up!
