Cabs Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 Passed away today in hospital. Apart from his undoubted talent as one of THE footballers of all time, who could forget the famous quote "I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered."
Leeroy186 Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 RIP Bestie. What a legend and he had it all, quality at football, top birds, loadsa booze and fast cars!
Badura_Racing258 Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 Heard it on BBC Radio 2, that he passed away. Regarded to some as a legend, others an idiot. Sad day for football indeed, and hopefully he'll be remember for his short career. Never played to his full potential (even though winning cups and individual awards)...everyone's saddened by the loss, but even he knew he had a problem with drink, and it was always an uphill battle. Hopefully, his moments on the feild will be relived and replayed in the coming years....true gent

Cunny78 Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 R.I.P George Best When I left for work this morning (6:30am) they said he was ok, obvisuly not.
Lakey508 Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 Very Sad, this guy had huge amount of talent and was a pure football legend. Away from football things got the better of him and thats the real sad part. Lets hope people remember George Best the Football man rather than the rest. Lakey
