Hey folks!

Would really appreciate some help promoting this brand new series, Banger Boys, that starts this evening at 10pm on the History Channel.

It follows a group of Sussex based Banger Racers through the ups and downs of family, and racing, life and is a real asset to our much loved sport.

It is certainly possible with these type of forums but, as LeeK, mentioned above this will eat away at the sites bandwidth and webspace.

The best alternative would be for UKDirt to create a YouTube account and host all videos there, away from it's own webspace, thus saving on bandwidth and not compromising on server load times.

By hosting the videos on YouTube, UKDirt could also take advantage of the possible cross-site traffic, meaning YouTube users that 'stumble' across the videos simply by typing 'Banger Racing' or F1 Stock Cars' in the YouTube search box may not know what UKDirt is and visit the site to find out, meaning possible new signups direct from this source.

You may need to be a little more specific there mate. The last mind reader we had got hit by a train...should have seen that coming really

yea sorry i have found that photoshop is saving the tga as a different header then what psp do... so i will be coding in the PS header format into the app tonight and i will release the updated version

I got the same issue using a psp file so u may wanna check that..

Its not even that much of a technical site (ukdirt.co.uk), a bit of php and some jquery, doesnt exactly use excessive amounts of bandwidth so really cannot see why webmania are having so many issues??

What is the best programme to use for keeping a customer database on and also a record of ongoing , previous and completed orders?

Has anyone got any setups they could send to me please for bangers. Me, Trash and Bozz making a come back this season with a new team and couple more old faces that haven't been seen for a few years (or more!) and we haven't got anything left for the game on any pc.

i would agree. it make good practice to have it, or tho I don't think anyone on ukdirt is cheating, The two times i had it! I have had the wrong car file for the A55 and the mk5 tina, which leek and lee sent me the correct file to rectify that, but i always get one when the mk3cedric is in use, which don't look good on my part?? be good if that file could be sorted out. Don't bother me if people are cheating on any league, but does bother me when my name comes up with cheat message, as you say bob the old finger comes up or whispers start, well i say makes you feel like that is going on anyway not stating its does, makes you feel bit awkward, Id rather get bit of credit for doing half well? due to spending time making settys up!

Why, and how, did you have the wrong car files??

I was just wondering if the cheat catcher was in use yet or not? I only ask as i seem to recall there have been a few cheat messages in server each week recently, i know sometimes it is due to car files etc and there is no cheating but i just wanted to know if there was any news on this front as i believe it would be great to use it to put peoples minds at rest and stop the chinese whispers that sometimes happen when the message does come up or some one seems unstoppable etc etc.

HI Guys does anyone have the SI signs font, I would like to reproduce the sign writing from a local F2 and I know that Simon was the sign writer, and as he paint loads of banger I am hoping some one willhave reproduced his atye as a font. Many thanks Eddy

Recently had to format the hard-disk again and I lost all my fonts, looking for the one I used for the 'Racing Engines' bit on this skin, can anybody tell me what the font is called?

May not have the exact one but got loads of professional sign fonts etc

Copy the programme files folders onto usb stick/cd and drag em onto the other?

Wont work with some programmes as they need to physically be "installed"

Reinstall on new machine from your original CD's, cos you DO have the originals don't you!

When I spoke to Ryan in depth about this the only decent numbers for teams can be 4/6 or 8. This is so both servers can be used and decent numbers can remain.

 

Teams of 6 could be done, but lets be honest it's very rare some of these teams can even turn out 4 drivers let alone 6 for a meeting.

Maybe we could introduce a kind of "transfer" system where by a driver can only race for one team per year, or until a "transfer window" opens, would help stop different teams popping up half way thru year etc??

upping the teams to 5 this year would be a step in the right direction was plenty on the night with no regular teams last year

Personally i think its down to numbers, back then we had teams of 8 with at least 6 teams at a meeting! We dont get that amount of drivers anymore

the days of plonk/trash/dhd/mental etc were by far the best

i can't remember where i saw the original thread, so here goes.i think there were discussions over keeping the team championship this year and the mk 1's so maybe we could throw them together and have mk 1 teams and to spice it up more run them on figure 8 tracks obviously they would get tedious every week but once a month could work.
