Most odd - this only happens if I have the "Wheel" option at "Off". Fixed or On is ok. So this might well be a code bug that you can't fix.
-
Good point - I'm using "TV Cockpit".

Terrific job on the Elite, great detail and yet still performs well. Only tiny comment I have is a bug report - the external steering wheel appears in the rear view: [attachmentid=17840] (BTW I'm assuming you want feedback on the beta, and in this forum is a good place - if not please don't hesitate to say and I'll shut up.)

Fair enough. Although FPS is good at Ipswich for me even with the dust (and 36 cars), although I do have a high spec machine. Lower spec PC owners can turn down the special effects option of course too. Here's an AIW with the groove added, and a race groove texture which I prefer to the ISI default - unzip to Ipswich\Ipswich folder (backing up the AIW first). Ipswich.zip
-
(Can't edit my post?) 3. Ipswich AIW appears to be missing a visible race groove.

Any plans for a real world driver skin pack from anybody? Even with the current incomplete AI state I think it's a lot of fun racing offline, and would be even more so against "real" BriSCA drivers.
-
Both of the current tracks are very well implemented and great fun to race on! I have a couple of tiny improvement suggestions for the next versions: 1. If you select "Use Track Default" for the start method then you get a standing start (should be rolling of course). 2. Ipswich dirt doesn't have the dust particle effect like Sexbierum - for fun I just used the TDF file from Sexbierum which appears to work ok (but would cause online mismatches I assume).

I think this is awesome chaps - fantastic achievement all round. Can't wait to see it grow from here. Thanks!

Ipswich is fab, great work!

Date: Fri, 12 Jan 2007 18:37:08 +0000 ESSEX HURRICANE APPEAL A major hurricane (Hurricane Shazza) and earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale hit Essex in the early hours of Friday with its epicentre in Basildon. Victims were seen wandering around aimlessly, muttering "Faaackinell". The hurricane decimated the area causing approximately £30 worth of damage. Several priceless collections of mementos from Majorca and the Costa Del Sol were damaged beyond repair. Three areas of historic burnt out cars were disturbed. Many locals were woken well before their giros arrived. Essex FM reported that hundreds of residents were confused and bewildered and were still trying to come to terms with the fact that something interesting had happened in Basildon. However, looting, muggings and car crime were unaffected and carried on as normal. One resident - Tracy Sharon Smith, a 15-year-old mother of 5 said, "It was such a shock. My little Chardonnay-Mercedes came running into my bedroom crying. My youngest two, Tyler-Morgan and Victoria-Storm slept through it all. I was still shaking when I was skinning up and watching Trisha the next morning." The British Red Cross has so far managed to ship 4,000 crates of Sunny Delight to the area to help the stricken locals. Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found large quantities of personal belongings, including benefit books, jewellery from Elizabeth Duke at Argos and Bone China from Poundland. HOW CAN YOU HELP? This appeal is to raise money for food and clothing parcels for those unfortunate enough to be caught up in this disaster. Clothing is most sought after - items most needed include: Fila or Burberry baseball caps, Kappa tracksuit tops (his and hers), Shell suits (female), White sport socks and Rockport boots. Any other items usually sold in Primark. Food parcels may be harder to come by, but are needed all the same. Required foodstuffs include: Microwave meals, Tins of baked beans, Ice cream, Cans of Colt 45 or Special Brew. 22p buys a biro for filling in the compensation forms; £2 buys chips, crisps and blue fizzy drinks for a family of 9; £5 buys a packet of B&H and a lighter to calm the nerves of those affected. **Breaking news** Rescue workers found a girl in the rubble smothered in raspberry alco-pop. "Where are you bleeding from?' they asked. " ROMFORD" said the girl. "Woss that gotta do wiv you? (Please don't forward this to anyone living in Essex - oh, sod it, they won't be able to read it, anyway.)

Great work Nick!

Mylaps.com has track lengths, although it isn't clear to me how they calculate it. Better than nothing though perhaps.
-
I'm very happy to fulfill your wish. Sorry for sticking my nose in where it wasn't wanted.
-
Yes, just straight conversion, the track only converted for physics testing. My tracks definitely need rebuilding for modern tech, they don't cut it in rFactor.
-
Lol, are you serious? You must have some very black kettles in your house. Anyway, I'm done here.
-
Ok, it seems we aren't going to be able to work together then, which is a shame. Good luck with it though, I wish you well. (The screens are rFactor btw, apart from where stated, have you actually read the thread?!?)

Hi Andy, been trying to keep out of this discussion despite following it for the last week. I am positive that we asked for your help a couple of months ago now as I did a search for the thread last night. At the time your responses were very negative and didn't really offer any help. Why now all of a sudden are you interested? MC You may be recalling a discussion in which my models were asked for, and I said no, not without seeing sufficient evidence that you were serious (that offer still stands by the way). I can (and have, in the editing forum) offer technical help (I know stuff about the ISI engine ), and maybe a little modelling help too (mainly track wise). No guarantees on the latter, since like most of us my free time is limited. So nothing is "all of a sudden", I always have been, and always will be, interested in helping to make the best possible BriSCA game. (Let's continue this off the forum as I suggested above please.)
-
I've offered help a couple of times now Nick (above, and some months ago in the editing forum), no response so far, but that's cool. Sam, I don't really agree - the last car posted is modelled by Dragon, and is extremely accurate when compared to the real car, with sensible use of polys. A good basic model will look good in any engine. I'm looking forward to being proved wrong though; my point really was that it might be best to lay off the hype, until you can show the evidence to back it up
-
Cool. Best not to call my stuff "poor" in the meantime then
-
And a quick one in rFactor itself (ignore the hack conversion bugs).
-
I've posted these before, but they might be new for some. An F1 in GTL (same graphics engine as rFactor as Dino says), and only a very quick conversion, a proper job would look much better than this. If the chaps working on this project want to get in touch with me (via PM) I'll offer as much advice and help as I can.
