When you say spend the Earth, how much are you looking at a maximum? I have a friend trying to sell his Thrustmaster Ferrari F430 wheel. I think he's looking to get at least £80 for it, which isn't bad for what it is.
It depends on what you're looking for too. Do you want a wheel that comes with a clutch pedal, or with just a throttle and a brake? Do you want a gear stick (shifter) as well as paddles? If you want a clutch pedal and stick shift, then the F430 isn't for you. To which then I'd recommend a Logitech G25. However, you'll struggle to get one below £100.
