Not sure whether Norton works in the same way as Zone alarm, but with ZA you need to allow heat.bin (C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp folder) and nheat.exe access thru the firewall or it used to spit me out of the game (usually only a crash to desktop tho unless norton protects by shutting down the system) so program accesses might be worth a check - i use ZA in a learning mode after installs to get a prompt for allowing required access for the game to run. also check for any block logs because usually if a progs been blocked once it stays blocked - if it sees an exe trying to work outward would it shutdown to protect the system perhaps?
Hope this helps

I saw a link to a site that had DTRSC brisca skins on a Brisca links page at the end of 2002, and (i think) that had a link (or a re-direct) to DirtyRacings (Boddles) site, holding files for Brisca Heat.
Couldn't believe it was an 'online' thing at all, and kinda made the decision then with Joyce that we'd get broadband when it went below £20 a month........Pipex offered £19.99 + vat and that was good enough for me lol. I had to order Nascar Heat from Amazon US (and it was so cheap i got DTRSC too just to reach the minimum value for free shipping), got it sent via a family friend in Calif and there we go...I didn't practice online before my first meeting (F1s at Belle Vue at the start of the 2003 season) and got such a shock, along with a proper battering as i recall rofl. After 3 more batterings on successive weeks i wasn't sure whether i was cut out for it at all (yep, spat the dummy even then loool), but a practice server of F2s on easter monday that year was the saving of that, so thats how i got into it.
Never (really) regretted it since either, so many thanks to you all

just had new upgrade done last week p4 proccesor new mobo just went to insall nascar heat and no cd patch tryed to test and got this crash log
anyideas whats wrong
i used to get exception access violation errors quite regularly Bruce, but a review and replacement of sound drivers (and the C-media software that was giving me another error in windows) seemed to kill the problem - have u used original drivers for sound or latest updated ones? as it was it would give the error then work the next time if i re-tried to launch the game, but it was hitty-missy.

only other thing i can think of.....is the HD partitioned with the main area named anything apart from C:?

clear temporary files and internet history m8 - also if Nascar Heat has already been on there and uninstalled ensure the folders etc have been removed.
