1. hmmmmmm don't sound right - if you're getting an error log from the game (a notepad document) please post it here.

also, when using the patches and mod files from the add-ons disc, i would recommend you drag/copy the files from the CD to your desktop and install them from the desktop - this does NOT apply to the Nascar Heat disc, only the add-ons

let us know about the nascar heat error log (if any) please ........ PW

  2. Hi Nige,

First things first, delete the Nascar Heat folder inside the Hasbro Interactive folder in 'program files'

Install nascar heat (use the setup option to run from HD - the 260mb option) - check it works

Install the 'no-cd' multipatch - check the game runs without the cd

install the 1.72e patch - check the game says 1.72e in the corner of the single player/multiplayer first screen

install a mod from the add-ons disc - check it works

let me know from there ...... Wrighty

  3. upload your NZ skins here for online racing then hopefully ( if i ask nice enough ) someone will either tell me how or make a skin pack for us

    np m8 i'll help u out with that thumbup.gif

(erm if and when we can get the attachments off here smile.gif)

  4. Maybe same problem that others have had with downloading zip files in the past?

    3571

yep we've had the same problem today here (download zip files and it says the files corrupt - its not a Norton thing coz we dont use Norton here blink.gif )

Legendsracer, please send me a PM with your e-mail address and i'll send the attachments over thumbs_up.gif

  5. Am understanding now:) So most of you when on single player cant race with these schemes. That makes sense now.

Yeah, what happens is, we produce skinpacks for people to install to see the other cars online. When you play the game offline you can only pick from the cars that are in the drivers list, but you have the other skins in the folder for online use only yeah? smile.gif

If wrighty can sort me out the drivers.txt that would be ace and if anyone else has a modified drivers.txt file for any of the mods if they could send it to me by e-mail i would be a very very very happy man thumbup.gif

no need m8 smile.gif please find attached LCHskinpack. Click on it to download and then unzip it. Open the new folder it creates and select all files contained there, copy and then paste into your UK Dirt LCH folder in Nascar Heat. This will add 12 cars in (you already have 4 novice cars) and a drivers list with 16 entries on it (the 12 in the zip pack plus the 4 novice car entries you already have). Let the new drivers text overwrite the existing one and there u go - 16 cars to race with offline and some of the 'more likely' online racers fr your future racing online smile.gif

I've also attached a zip file containing setups for use with the mod. To run this, unzip again and run the installer thats inside it BUT when it gets to the line showing the destination folder for the installer paste in the line below

    C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\ukdirtlch

(the installer was created for the old LCH mod). This contains setups for most of our tracks and most of the US tracks too. Please note, when you're in-game go into your garage (if you're in single player go into race setup and check its on expert, then go back and into the garage below the practice/qualify/race buttons) and load the setup again. It shows the name when the setup isnt loaded so u need to re-load the setup. then test or go race smile.gif - theyre a bit loose but worth the practice - very fast lol (credit goes to a guy called Rusty T Bass for these - his setups smile.gif)

anyway i'll stop rambling.....have fun and happy lapping wink.gif ...... cya soon online hopefully

    all the best ............. Wrighty

  6. Have got the 24 cars with Jr etc and yea I can race with them. Its just a question of how do u get the new cars and drivers on the list????

    I'm puzzeled shrug.gif

    3393

don't be m8, at least your games running now smile.gif. In terms of extra cars to be added .......I can prepare a drivers text with a skinpack to add more cars in for offline use (i'll include our UK Dirt regulars so if you race online you'll see the cars ok) - all this entails is a zipfile containing the extra .tex files and a drivers list that replaces the one you already have.

We had discussed doing a UK legends offline pack using skins (cars) that our members had painted but thats to revive (lost it from the old RSC forum unfortunately).

The main thing for racing online with our lot is ensuring you have their skins in so i'll prepare that pack.

Finally, there is a pack of setups available for the original LCH mod (which is the one i think you have) - i'll post that on here this afternoon for u to download and install thumbs_up.gif

cheers and best wishes .......... Wrighty

  7. From what I have played so far its well worth a tenner!!

Started in career mode so only in Prostocks but they are taily and quick enough.

Tracks are mostly the same as WoO Sprint Cars with a few different ones.

Looks damn good to me for the money, you cant go wrong!

    3413

many thanks for the tip Trash - i work about 1/4 mile from the Metrocentre so i'll be in there this afternoon with me tenner in me clammy mitt biggrin.gif

    thnx again ........ Wrighty

  8. Agh ok , have got the drivers list. Do I have to enter every driver in the list because all thats showing is the default paint jobs???

At least the problems been found rolleyes.gif

    3349

lol good to hear we're making some progress m8......when you say 'default' schemes what do u mean plz? as i recall the UKDirt LCH mod only had novice cars in (which means the drivers text only has 4 cars in to choose from) - the LCH mod (the original mod) had about 24 i think? you'll see some famous names in there (Dale Earnhardt Jr. etc)

does the game work? can you start it up and race in 'single race' mode?

as you'll probably have gathered now, installing patches and mods can be intimidating at first but fret not, the racings worth the hassle smile.gif

let us know where you are with this - remember, no question is too stupid wink.gif

    all the best .......... Wrighty

  9. Vroom vroom, bleep bleep. Any news on this topic? (little reminder for Admin of their "things to do list")

we have had a main meeting last week to discuss the points raised as well as other points. The info from this is to be sorted and published on the admin forum for final review before the points are prepared for implementation.

And in addition to the question. We are running without a chairman for a couple of weeks now (months?). Any news on this topic? Can the members have their saying/vote in that, can members be brought forward for chairman?

this wasnt really discussed - more info when we do lol smile.gif - the main purpose of last weeks meet was to discuss the suggestions thumbs_up.gif

    cheers ..... Wrighty

  10. k, the uk dirt one's link doesn't work so I've the the legends car heat mod.

I've unzipped all the paint schemes for each mod into the respective championship folder, e.g legends into lch folder.

Should there be like a car folder in the lch folder???

    Will put more up tomoz

    3316

ok if you've installed the 'old' LCH mod file you should have a folder inside the nascar heat folder called LCH. Inside here you'll find the car files (legends.car and legendsc.car) and the various car skins (car1.tex, car2.tex etc) - hopefully you have a drivers text in there (notepad document with a series of entries in showing car number, driver name, chassis type etc). This is the list that is reproduced as the choice of cars in game.

doh theres me break finished biggrin.gif ........... cya soon lol .......... Wrighty

  11. lol yea i've got heat and the 1.72 patch + no cd thingy

Am sure the skins should just work:)

    3286

I'dve thought they would as well m8 - you've installed which mod? the old LCH mod from rapidRoy.com or the UKDirtLCH mod from www.ukdirt.co.uk? - we need to make sure you dont have one mod and the skinpack for the other mod u c?

  12. re: Magpye - dropped scores are a good option - we'll look more closely as fixture lists get released thumbs_up.gif

re: JB - its not officially dropped from UK Dirt on the whole, merely from the weekly schedule - i'll still be running a main shootout series on the alternate Wednesdays during the summer when the Rods are on their break.

cheers chaps .... Wrighty (good to see the supporters of the mod coming out smile.gif)

ps - Cunny, will you be able to offer your services as a server when you're available as you do for BWS? (no pressure wink.gif lol)

  13. Chaps,

Further to the posts here and here regarding the future of LCH and the Outlaw Rods series, Joker and i have had a chat and would like to offer the following proposals for discussion.

The main idea is to run both formula within a meet weekly OR to alternate weeks. Our preference atm is for the dual formula meeting, using two private servers if required to run pairs of races for each formula with chat inbetween. People would be welcome to run either or both series but races will count toward an overall championship. The track would be the same for the whole meet for both formulas with both running heats and a Final. The track list is as Joker posts, with the exception that we'll use Sheffield instead of SheffieldR so all meets are run anti-clockwise.

The other discussion we had (gulp....) was including some roadcoarse racing for the series, as a separate championship. The idea was to run a roadcourse probably 1 week in 3 (so we'd run oval, oval, roadie, oval, oval, roadie etc) and again this would be for both formulae with private servers hosting. Tracks discussed (and either briefly tested or tried beforehand) are Brands Hatch, Donington, Silverstone, Rockingham, Lime Rock, Brno and Jerez plus whatever occurs to us/gets built and released in the meantime etc lol.

This will probably give us a 18-20 week schedule, to be run as mentioned on Saturday afternoons.

Interested? The series will feature its own website, i'll happily RM the meetings and maintain the points etc and skinpacks etc can be catered for if necessary. Please post on this thread if you have an interest in racing with us and we'll see what we can organize smile.gif

    all the best ................ Wrighty

  14. On the template which i was sent for the woodsy chassis it had no guides or anything. Just a whole load of blank panels:S. You had to guess what part was what. There are also other sites which you could ask for a larger resolution version of the images?? www.nzstockcars.cjb.net is one.

    cheers

    sparky

    2850

    Sparky,

If you open the TGA then paint every area a different colour and write down what they are, you can then import the skin and write down which colour does which area of the car wink.gif you then colour each area and save it as a layer, and when you have all of the areas on their own layer, you can delete the TGA layer et voila....a layered template.

Sorry to hijack the thread Dragon, i'm glad to see that theres some support for the mod to be completed, i'm looking forward to trying these online (car looks fantastic too m8 clean as a whistle) smile.gif

    all the best chaps..........Wrighty
