  7. Hello, and Welcome to the UK-Dirt F1 'Open Meeting' information thread. Here we will, hopefully, provide you with all the information you need to be able to join us on the 11th and 12th of May at our UK Open Championship meetings. We are aware that some of you may know how to do all this, and may have already raced in other rFactor leagues, but there maybe prospective drivers who aren't so as there are instructions specifically relevant for UK-Dirt can everyone please read everything carefully. **To be able to race at trhe meetings, if you haven't done so already, you will need to register a name and number on the UK Dirt website. Unfortunately we are experiencing problems with the site but we have created a thread on the forum which lists the current drivers registered with us. Please choose one of the F1 drivers numbers available and along with your name/nickname post your interest on the same thread. This name and number will be used to identify you during the meeting and any further participation you have within the league so when setting up rFactor please use these details as your profile within the game, again, to aid us in identifying you on race nights, help is available if required. >> CLICK HERE FOR DRIVER REGISTRATION << **You can also register on the UK-Dirt forum **You will need a copy of rFactor. rFactor is the PC game in which we base our F1 ‘mod’. You have to purchase the game either as a CD or as a download from >> www.rfactor.net << A search on google will also find other CD stockist’s. *Please check, before you purchase anything, that your PC specifications are capable of running the game, and if so, that your cd or download is version 1.255.* Minimum System Requirements: CPU: 1.4 GHz processor RAM: 512 MB RAM VGA: Geforce4 4200 or Radeon 9200, 128 MB video RAM DX: DirectX 9.0c OS: Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP, XP 64-bit (will NOT run in Windows 95 or Windows 98 first edition) HDD: 2.0 GB of hard drive space for installation Recommended System Requirements: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 processor RAM: 2048 MB RAM VGA: Geforce 7900 GT or Radeon X1900 GT, 256 MB video RAM DX: DirectX 9.0c OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7 HDD: 2.0 GB of hard drive space for installation **Once you have installed rFactor you need to download and install the F1 Stockcars v1.40 ‘mod’. The installation instructions, along with the download, can be obtained from the link below. And thanks go to UKSOM with helping us with this. >> CLICK HERE FOR F1 STOCKCARS v1.4 << **Next you will need the skinpacks used for our meetings, these are the downloads (2011 Skinpack 1 and 2011 Skinpack 2) which, once installed, allows each driver to use custom paintwork and their own race number on their cars. This is a requirement for the ‘Open meeting’ as it will cause errors and you will not be able to join the server. Download both files, open them and follow the instructions, they will install automatically into the correct folders and the custom skins will now be visible within the game. >> CLICK HERE FOR THE SKINPACKS << *If you do not have a custom made car in the skinpack, please use one of the novice cars provided within the game. Roof grades will be used for the meetings and anyone using a novice car will be informed prior to any meeting of what this will be.* **The track, Coventry Stadium can be found here.. >> CLICK HERE FOR COVENTRY STADIUM << **MIRC chat is a chatroom program we use to meet up just prior to any meeting we have and where our race manger gives out instructions for the evening ahead. To gain access into this use the link below, enter your name/nickname and number you registered with, so the race manager is able to identify you, and press 'GO', this will take you into the room, please do ask for help if you need it. >> CLICK HERE FOR MIRC CHATROOM << **Game and car setup can be a daunting when it is first seen but but we will give you some guidance on the two most popular asked questions. PC steering wheel settings: Located within the Settings/contorls of the game, here are the rates which most drivers have there game set to. Car setup: The 'Default' setup for the F1 mod at Coventry is a very good base in which to start your practise and is still used by many current drivers. There are obviously changes you can make to suit your own style of driving and one of our members, Drumstick, has compiled a setup guide to help you to understand the 'Black Art' of setups. Click on the link below for the setup guide... rFSetupGuide.zip You are now ready to participate in our Open meeting. The first meeting will take place on Wednesday 11th May 2011 at 7.45pm, to be able to participate you will have to 'book in'. A 'thread' will be made available on the UK Dirt F1 forum for this to be done, or email us at f1admin(at)ukdirt.co.uk, giving your name and race number. Once booked in you will be given the server details and password, when it is required, which will allow you access to the F1 rFactor servers. This access will allow you to practise time, with other drivers on the Wednesday evening, prior to the meeting, and the meeting itself, after which the password will be changed. >> WEDNESDAY NIGHT BOOKINGS HERE << Thursday nights racing will follow the same format as Wednesday and you can book in using this link >> THURSDAY NIGHT BOOKINGS HERE << Hopefully we have been able to supply you with all the relevant information you need but If you are still unsure how to set things up then please contact us either here or by email, f1admin(at)ukdirt.co.uk, and we will help you as much as we can. We look forward to joining us at our next event. UK Dirt – the original and the best. On behalf of the UK Dirt F1 Admin Team
  8. This Thursday sees the return of the Big League to UK Dirt. Yes, the mighty UK Dirt F1’s will rumble once again this week! Just 13 weeks ago, Birmingham hosted the final meeting of the 2010 UK Dirt F1 season. It was a classic meeting with just under 30 cars in attendance and fantastic racing taking place throughout the night. The 2011 season will kick off at this fantastic venue with World Championship Qualifying Points up for grabs and a chance to race in the new and improved Whites and Yellows Series! Early booking indications show that there will be many new faces in attendance. Add to this the fact that some of the big names in the league have already indicated their intent to race at the first meeting and you have a recipe for yet another classic F1 meeting! The meeting will start with the revamped Whites and Yellows Championship. This year it will remain in the public eye with the drivers taking part in races over 20 rounds. With all of the rounds out of the way, a Whites and Yellows Points Champion will be crowned. But we won’t stop there! At Sheffield in October, the top 22 points scorers in the Whites and Yellows series will be entered into the 12 lap Whites and Yellows Dash! This tweak in format will hopefully make sure that the lesser lights of the sport get the recognition they deserve! Moving on from the whites and yellows race, there will then be a minimum of 3 heats, with each driver racing in 2. From there, the top 14 drivers will qualify for the meeting final before the rest do battle for the final 8 places in the consolation. All this adds up to a monster 22 car final around the Birmingham Tarmac. Rounding off the night we will have the Grand National race(s). Points scored in these races also count towards the World Championship Qualifying Points Chart. So all in all, we are set and ready for another epic season of UK Dirt F1 racing. With the league steeped in history, it really is the number one place for your F1 racing action! THURSDAY 3RD MARCH @ 8:30PM - BIRMINGHAM - THE BIGGEST SEASON OPENER TO DATE! Cheers UK Dirt F1 Admin Team
