  1. The Water Tank.

    Well done Stu

The rules use to state it had to be under the bonnet, but they changed to level with the front pulley at that time. Paul turned up with the Jag tank infront the pulleys and across the front. Spedeworth let him race as long as it was unbolted and left free. The rest is history ........

Even after the meeting he was allowed home with the Trophy but the money was held back until the powers that be sorted it out, because some of the Spedeworth boys were not happy!

  2. In 1985 Paul Shepherd won the World Final at Wimbledon. A slight change in the Spedeworth rule book for that year meant that the car he was driving was actually deemed to be illegal. So as a compremise one part of the XJ6 he built was unbolted before he was allowed to take part .......... what was the part

  3. Passed in 1986 and started with a 1300 Mk2 Escort.

Since then i've had the pleasure of Mk3,4,5 Cortinas - Mk1,2 Granny's - Mk1,2 Trummy's - Sierras - Loads of Jap stuff from Starlets to a 280c. All great fun and all end up on track

For getting cars around i've had a few Transits, Cargo with hiab, and at the moment use a 312 Sprinter.

Been a diesel convert for about 10 years ;) and have watched at many a meeting from St Day to Cowdie to Arena and plenty in between using at the moment a TD Mondeo and a few drums for company :whistling: .......... (I love you really Gordon Brown)
