My laptop is playing silly When I start a race in banger heat , the first 3-4 round run "smooth", but then it starts doing silly and the game looks more like looking at pictures as watching a video (does this make sence?) can anyone of you tell, what mite be the problem? I tried everything , from making space on the C-disc, to running ad-aware , from defragmantation to deleting other games from the computer, but nothing helped Help needed, Frank Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You have have downloaded a virus or someother bad program, i had a dodgy program once that used to do nothing, but it constantly used up 50% of the cpu power. Do a virus scan. your laptop may be running uneccesary background tasks. When your on windows press (on my english keyboard) "ctrl + alt + delete" (at the same time) This will bring up the task manager, then click "processes" and "performance" Then you can see if any other programs are using up the computer power, and if need be you can turn off the prgrams in the "processes" menue. wrighty496 Posted May 3, 2006 Report Share Posted May 3, 2006 any more help? you could try HijackThis - a free program from Merijn (i think) software (you need to do a google search m8, i'm at work atm, this browser doesn't do the links etc properly). When you run it, it gives you a report of all running applications in a notepad 'log' which you can then post on Merijn's forum for advice on stopping/killing/deleting programs and processes you don't need - they're good too, and usually quick to respond. best wishes with it, it works for me ...... buckle Posted May 8, 2006 Report Share Posted May 8, 2006 if the first 3-4 races run smooth then it starts to play up, its possible that the processor or graphics card is getting too hot. Does it feel hot after a few races, if the game is putting a lot of strain on the laptop, and it is struggling to cool it self it will overheat, and when it gets too hot, it can't cope and won' t work as fast as it should.
