Radz335 Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 looks great mate, no need to change to ask someone else to do one, thats my thoughts,

jamesy Posted December 1, 2006 Author Report Posted December 1, 2006 i can paint bangers ok but im seem to really struggle to get it to look gd f1s that is any one got any tips of making it better?no one is doing a skin yet for me
martin379 Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 maybe a small thing to help it make it look alittle bit better is if you made the chassis and rollcage all the one colour, becasue just now youhave black and yellow. IMO it would look better all in maybe say, silver...just a thought m8, apart from that deacent attempt.
jamesy Posted December 2, 2006 Author Report Posted December 2, 2006 is it just me or is the f1,f2s skins the hardest to paint?,thanks for the comments guys
Simon31 Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Ill delete the ones ive started for you then
Kruiz 136 Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 It really is a decent attempt jamesy but it is the very smalest details that make a great skin. Here are a few suggestions that you can leave or take. Slant the 101 on the right side of the aerofoil the other way so the top half is pointing backwards rather than forwards, if you know what i mean. (Maybe) the right crowd side plate '101' should be made less stretched, try placing it to the far left of the aerofiol. The sign on the crowd side left panel of the aerofoil needs to be a bit clearer. Apart from that, its a good skin mate

Rikard Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 F1's and F2's are defiantly the hardest to paint and look good, I think your second attempt looks better, maybe a suggestion could be either to make the yellow brighter, or tone down the red bars a tad?
erik Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 (edited) I agree with what Rikard said. Also, you might want to make the numbers on the offside below the wing go the other way, if you know what I mean. Edited December 3, 2006 by erik
Kruiz 136 Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 That looks much better mate: Keep the yellow how it is, it looks good. Either make the red darker or change it to black imo The right side numbers on the panel next to the head rest ned to go the other way like the original one (so its readable, left to right) Make the back panel sign a bit smaller but keep it centered the crowd side number on the aerofoil could do with being just slightly less stretched and try to make the italics go the other way so the top half points backwards like the infield side. Obviously you dont have to do all that but they are my thoughts and opinions. Cheers Kruiz
jamesy Posted December 3, 2006 Author Report Posted December 3, 2006 thanks for the comments, for some reason cat get the numbers right of that side kruiz
Kruiz 136 Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 thanks for the comments, for some reason cat get the numbers right of that side kruiz You mean you cant get the itallics to go the other way? If so, no problem. If you are using photoshop, select that layer then go to edit > transform > Skew Then drag the top left corner to the desired 'slantiness' if thats a word lol
jamesy Posted December 3, 2006 Author Report Posted December 3, 2006 no i use paint shop pro 7,8 i do have paint shop6 but cant get on with it lol

Sparky961 Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Right, I have had a wee read on this thread and you're skin looks pretty good Jamesy.. I'll try and point out what I do to my skins to make them look more realistic etc as it may help you with yours... I tend to avoid bright colours, when choosing a colour I tend to think a bright red is a glossy red and a slightly toned down one is a matt red, same for black, if you move you're pointer up very slightly it becomes a matt black which shows in game alot better than pure jet black. Signs are good, on the aero I would possibly make you're numbers smaller and not have signs overlapping each other which can sometimes spoil a good sign. make sure everything is clear and most importantly simple. The best skins are usually the simplest ones. Good luck and I look forward to seeing you're skins improve over time cheers sparky
jamesy Posted December 4, 2006 Author Report Posted December 4, 2006 i will keep trying but si will be doing me online skins till i can get them better, thanks for all ur advice peeps
