memory help

hello all i would like abit of advise im not very good with comp but i have got the game gtr i have installed it and when i race with other cars the game keeps pausing or jumping what is the best thing for me to do to be able to make the game run smooth with the comp cars on

it would be nice to be able to run gtr game so i can go online with it how do i find out what i have already got is it that the comp has not got enouth power to run the game?

lo m8 first thing i wud do is upgrade memory to 1 gig,very easy to install yourself just take ur old one out take to puter shop or puter fair show ur memory to seller and ask for 1 gig or take motherboard manual,i made mistake of gettin new graphics card then getting memory after,i did have 512 mb and a geforce fx 5700 card so upgraded that to geforce 6600 gtoc,gtr was very jumpy with a lot of cars on track,runs fine now with the upgrade of memory a fast puter also helps anything less than 2 gig will cause probs

thanks for the reply chris how do i go about finding out what i have got in mine i could go to pc world if they do them how much is a upgrade

hoe do i go about getting mine out of my computer

to find out wot ur puter has got already and speed press start then goto control panel then system,memory varies in price i got mine from puter fair 2xpc2700 ddr 512 mb memory sticks at 38 quid each,will be a lot dearer if u went to pc world or any other puter shop,info here on how too take memory out of machines http://www.emachines.com/support/download/...n2/Memory_a.pdf

this is what i have at the moment sorry to be a pain but how do i go about taking the one i got out to be able to take the shop this afternoon if i can work it out i might be able to have a good blast 2nite then thanks jay

thanks all for ur help  i got one coming home with my girlfriend so i will try and put it in whaen she gets home pc world said to put the new beside the one that is already there to double it up so that is what i will try thanks all i will let u no how i get on

Memory should just slot in and out with the end clips holding it in place.  The memory sticks themselves have slots cut into the bottom so you can't put them in back to front.

 

The only real concern is don't wear a wooly jumper or synthetic leisurewear and make sure you've earthed yourself before handling anything with chips on it (not fish- that's fine).  So find something metal to touch before you handle the expensive electronic things.
