  1. Jacking up is very 70s, and it's what mk3s were made for. Seems to be missing the brake light on the diff, and I'd need to know if it has dixie air horns before thinking much more about it. Leopard print steering wheel cover would also be a deal-breaker if not fitted.
  2. http://www.texasspeedracing.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1262 might be useful for any skins you couldn't find the original psd/tga for. You'll never get the layers back, but you'll have something editable.
  3. that sounds like network problems with UDP traffic being blocked/not routed by your network. It might not be, but it sounds like it.
  4. I took a break from online racing, when I left people were strongly concerned about the fact people were thinking of testing out this alternative game, Nascar Heat, instead of the one everyone was familiar with, DTRSC. When I came back to the league, it had switched to Heat and everyone *seemed* to be happy with it, to the point that several cars and several UK/Dutch short ovals had already been made and raced on. Maybe history will repeat itself, or maybe Heat is the "sweet spot" of software that's good enough to stick with. One car model, one track and a dozen people to test it, will show if any other games have potential. A game that could work out temporary pit-gates would be the bee's knees, for offline especially.
  5. Ok Pedz- it's apparently been a problem since SP1. Motto of software programming- if it aint broke, it soon will be... Most of the tricky stuff in the BHCM was to do with the bit that checks the internet site for next meeting info- track n car set etc and tells you if you're ready to go. I think it's this bit that causes the most problem with errors and I don't know if anyone even uses that (putting the fixtures on the ukdirt site in a specially formatted text file)...
  6. it might be to do with the .ocx file that I think should be included. you may need to copy this file to your windows\system32 folder then go to start menu, "run" and type: regsvr32.exe blah.ocx where blah.ocx is the name of the file, which I can't remember.
  7. Looking round the internets it looks like this is something that comes up for some people with XP sp2- there are fixes for it but they all seem pretty specific/convoluted/technical. I don't want someone reformatting their whole system for the sake of a poxy file swapper program I wrote years ago though, so I'll keep looking. Maybe it's due for a rewrite but I only have Visual Studio 6 anyway. The thing to do at the moment is manually copy (don't "move"- make sureiit's copy)the files from whatever subfolder to the main bangers folder for the car class you want to use (ie the tex files and drivers.txt) I think that should get you out on track at least, even if it's a pain.
  8. Just as a side comment, the best "contact" I've experienced in online racing was in a (short lived, and sadly unpopular) Nascar Racing 2003 banger racing league. It was Nascars, not modded cars, so it was tricky, but the sense of impact was the best I've seen online.
  9. Reinstall the VB runtime files.
  10. How have you been trying to copy the discs? I ask because my dad was having trouble copying some DVDs from his DVDrecorder (to put the stuff from an RW disc onto R discs) and it turns out he was trying to use the actual "DVD/Video" copying options, rather than just doing a simple disc copy/clone, which works every time. So if you haven't tried just a basic disc copy/backup/clone (whatever your program calls it) try that. As for VOB files, a program like Nero should be able to make a video disc from them, but it's down to what software you have.
  11. It's on the members section of www.ukdirt.co.uk when you log in there.
  12. does it work if you use a different number (try 617 for example?)
  13. check the F2 forum and look for admin policy/rules/instruction on skin uploads.
  14. Do you have any other mods installed? Try making/copying a tex file as car17.tex in another mod and edit the drivers.txt accordingly- see if car17 gets hijacked by the nascar again. Posting your full drivers.txt contents would be useful also.
  15. Some thoughts It would save a lot of time and possibly get quicker answers if problems posted are accompanied by a reasonable amount of detail about the computer and the problem- at least what version of windows is running, what happens when errors occur, what hardware is in the PC and house. Because every time, someone will first have to reply with "please post specs and crash log if applicable" and we could just cut that delay out really easily with a bit more explanation in the original request for help. It's like saying "my car's not running, anyone know what the problem is?" I'm not having a go, just trying to speed up the process of getting answers to problems. On that note, "never mind sorted it" posts would be useful if there's some details that can be shared- how was it sorted? While your problem may be solved, there may be others who would find the solution useful to know. Almost every problem has been answered already (often several times) so half an hour spent reading this forum might be a good idea too before posting a request for help.
