Guest danielrogers29 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 i have raced a few free online leagues and had a bit of practice in the f1s at lan meetings. i was looking to sign up, and give uk dirt a try to see whether i fancy spendin the money to race online, when i do ill be hooked and racing all formulas haha. will i have to wait until the site is back on to register and race??? (probably will to download game files?) is there anywhere that has the days and times that each formula runs?? (ive looked and cant find them) cheers, dan
Guest danielrogers29 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 ive tried connecting to a mates brisca heat game from my computer, with no firewall either end. we couldnt connect. will this be a proble i should try and sort out before registering with ukdirt?? or will it being run in jolt change how it works? cheers again, dan
martin379 Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 If you were trying to connect to your mates private server with a landline connection and both of you were trying to connect via the "LAN" connection then it should of worked I would imagine. However if either one of you were using a wireless internet connection, and had any of the other net options selected then I would think thats why it didn't work. If you have a wireless net connection then it will most likely casue warp whilst racing online in jolt, I know as I have a wireless connection but have to change it over to landline when I want to race online. Also when connectiong to a jolt use the "ISDN" option. Hope this helps. Martin
Guest danielrogers29 Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 cheers mate, i had cable/dsl selected, i will try the other way. im not wireless, he may be. no point signing up if im having comp problems
Mav Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 UK Dirt site is up and running again, although the downloads needs reconfiguring, so is as yet unavailable. You shouldn't have problems connecting as long as one party "creates" the server using "LAN" and the other party uses the creating parties IP address when "finding" (using ISDN) - you should connect fine. You could always use the £5 trial option, making sure you are up with the rules on skins and racing - to gauge whether its worth joining or not permanently.
Guest danielrogers29 Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 what is the £5 trial option??? ive not managed to find anything about it. what time do the meetings normally start???
Mav Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 £5 gives you two weeks Jolt access. If you decide to continue then £15 gives you Jolt access till 28th Feb 2008. Jolt access is the allowing to join League meetings & Practice online. Most meetings start at 8:30pm each night - All meet in Mirc Chat - then races get called. Practice is at anytime unless a meeting is in progress.
