Crazy Craig Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 I got a bit nostalgic and bought a copy of Destruction Derby for the PC. When I come to install it it says... Your system does not contain enough hardware memory to run this game. Your system contains 2048kb or memory, this game requires 6144kb. Erm... what can I do to solve this? Cheers, CC
Nick M48 Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 You may have to run it through some sort of emulator as it's a very old game, I still have it somewhere but what specs does it ask for?
Crazy Craig Posted July 18, 2007 Author Report Posted July 18, 2007 There isn'y anything on the box or the CD, but I got this from a website if its any use? System: 486/66 or equivalent RAM: 8 MB Hard Drive Space: 25 MB CC
Dino Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 It is a dos game. You may be able to run it through dosbox
Rikard Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 (edited) You may have to use the Windows Compatability program. But I still play it on XP, The PC I played it on when I first bought the game, back in '96 was a Pentium MMX 166 Mhz To get it to run on my PC I have to turn off the "Hardware Acceleration" On empty desktop: Right Click --> Settings --> Advance --> Troubleshoot Then if your PC is the same as mine then turn down the Hardware Acceleration until its off. Took a bit of tinkering to get it to run on my current computer, but now it runs fine, at perfect frame rate! lol "Wow! Total Destruction" "Hes waaaaaaay out in front" Edited July 18, 2007 by Rikard
Crazy Craig Posted July 18, 2007 Author Report Posted July 18, 2007 I tried that DosBox but cant figure out how to use it properly? Each time i put the dd disk in to install it, still says about the hardware memory!
