Essentials Problems...

Hi, ive been having alot of problems with the essentials off UK-dirt guides page and the internet also. Ive tried everything! To start off...

1. I downloaded and installed essentials off uk-dirt.

2. I then installed the no_cd patch (to be sure).

3. I then installed the 1.72e patch.

4. I chose a skin pack any at random and that was 2ltr.

5. I instaled it and chose it on BCHM.exe

This is where it doesnt work :(

I've then clicked NHeat.exe and press 'yes' because i am on 2000 xp :D ( customed it with memory and New graphics card)

When the game load it comes up with the original nascar heat background, music and when i press single player...only allows me to pic the NASCAR drivers and cars... i installed Belle vue (banger track version) and when i press load, doesnt work.

During 2 weeks before the 6 weeks holidays, i was neally their but i gave up because i spend 6 hours a day neally but never go to egt it working. i got up to getting the banger background, music a 1 car up but no driver names, or stuff like that. got the track to work but only showed red nascar's (unfortuinatly) . Because i'd had enough i deleted the lot and i tried again today but with a few help from gaz998 and cap27 but they still couldn't figure it out :( wats going wrong here ffs. plz help. i want to get essentials working because i dont believe it works :D

Thanks very much, Dazza! :2:

Hi, ive been having alot of problems with the essentials off UK-dirt guides page and the internet also. Ive tried everything! To start off...

1. I downloaded and installed essentials off uk-dirt.

2. I then installed the no_cd patch (to be sure).( ive done it before even without this patch )

3. I then installed the 1.72e patch.( ive done it before even without this patch )

4. I chose a skin pack any at random and that was 2ltr.

5. I instaled it and chose it on BCHM.exe

When the game load it comes up with the original nascar heat background, music and when i press single player...only allows me to pic the NASCAR drivers and cars... i installed Belle vue (banger track version) and when i press load, doesnt work.

.....i got up to getting the banger background, music a 1 car up but no driver names, or stuff like that. got the track to work but only showed red nascar's (unfortuinatly)

it all looks good for 1-3 m8, but I think you've got the car skinpacks but not the cars....between 3 and 4 install the banger mod file, then the 1.1 update, then the 2007 update from UK Dirt Banger section, THEN download and install the skinpacks...... if you're looking for 'names' then you'll need banger heat, look for links on here for those files....

so:

1: install essentials,

2: install 1.72e patch

3: install ukdirt banger mod and updates

4: download and install skinpacks and/or banger heat

5: go to BHCM to choose skinpack for game then launch game as normal....

IF you get a UI error like;

==========================================================

() Panic: Can't load resource set "ui.res"

==========================================================

get this ui.res from Texas speed racing then put that UI.res in your 'run' folder in nascar heat (C:/program files/hasbro interactive/nascar heat/run) and then re-install the bangers (points 3 then 4)

best wishes, post with how it goes (or doesnt go) plz :)

Not sure if it's part of the problem but the default directory for Nascar Heat downloads is...

C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat

I noticed on your error log the directory shows...

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\UK Dirt\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat

If this is your problem you either need to use the default directory for Nascar Heat or alter any downloads to use the same directory you're currently using.

Please could some 1 send me the Banger Ui.res file. the one that wrighty sent me was STCC and when i copied that over the old 1 then reinstalled banger heat, it didnt change to the banger ui.res, just stayed as the STCC one :( Now the paint.res file needs sorting, what does this do? fix the car instead of NASCARS or what? Inc drivers...

the 'file attachment' didnt work so ill have to explain it in detail what my problem is now.

1. When i have the game running i have the banger background & music.

2. I press single player and all the names of the NASCAR drivers come up, all their cars with pictures and No bangers at all. But behind them is a banger but weather or not that is the background, i dont know.

3. i chose 1 at random which was 'rusty wallace'.

4. it then goes onto chosing a track which i have aldershot up. (the tracks seem to work fine)

5. i click aldershot and press select.

6. Next is the screen with...Practice, qualify, race - garage, setup.

7. i click race and the the race loads.

8.Then once the game has loaded, 16 RED NASCARs are driving around. WHATS GOING ON!

9. when i race all the damage shows on the cars but they are NASCAR'S and they are all red. the track has loaded well and is great but the cars is my problem. what am i doing wrong?

Thanks, dazza#815

I did post this earlier in the topic but think you may have missed as you posted straight after me, worth checking I think.

Not sure if it's part of the problem but the default directory for Nascar Heat downloads is...

C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat

I noticed on your error log the directory shows...

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\UK Dirt\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat

If this is your problem you either need to use the default directory for Nascar Heat or alter any downloads to use the same directory you're currently using.

yeh ano, ive checked the downloads and downloaded them to the c:/program files/hasbro interactive/Nascar heat and it creates a folder called uk dirt in my documents and setting folder. i got a bit further this morning and i keep getting this message whenever i chose a car, something to do with the wheels...

Looks like either a car file or another file within the game hasn't install right, the game is looking for a wheel thats probably built into the car file..

I would re-install the lot again m8, I know it takes a little time but could be quicker than trying to figure all the problems out, re-install making sure each file installs into the default directory.

Maybe back up the folder that holds the tracks this will save a little time then just copy back over, make sure you install all the ukdirt updates and patches etc in order, then install the banger offline skinpacks to make sure your working ok.

Hope thats of some help
