headbanger193 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 Ok you pro skin painters, i need abit of help. Iv noticed that quite afew bangers have a paint dripping effect on them and i was wondering the best way to do it. Any advice would be a great help
crewie Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Im pretty sure there is a font that gives the effect of runny/dripping paint. If you mean for the edges of different colours on cars, warp brush/very fine use of the paint brush tool? All this fuss that peeps make over doing minted skins and then someone comes along and wants to make a rough looking one!
crewie Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Just had a quick look through my fonts, brushed, Feast of flesh BB and MUKOKUSEKI KITCHEN all give you that rough/quickly hand painted look
crewie Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 I use PSP8 and to create dripping/running paint I used the warp brush tool. Just had a quick play with my paint program and created this. Its pretty rough as it was a rush job, but take some time and it will give you the drippy paint look.
earache Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Think it's more something like the effect on this car that he's after
headbanger193 Posted September 13, 2008 Author Report Posted September 13, 2008 Thats spot on erik, thats what i meant. I will have to speak to nath
earache Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 The Eyecandy 4000 plugin used to let you do something similar to that, not sure how good it was though. Unfortunatley I don't have the plugin any more as it went when I formatted the hard disc
crewie Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Oh well, my mistake, after all, since when did rips and tairs look owt like running paint....next time I'll just STFU and not waste my time.
crewie Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 I was just trying to help aswell You wasnt asking for one thing, when in reality was after something completely different.
headbanger193 Posted September 13, 2008 Author Report Posted September 13, 2008 Thanks to both of you for your opinions on what to do. But Nath has pointed me in the right direction.
headbanger193 Posted September 14, 2008 Author Report Posted September 14, 2008 here is my first attempt at dripping paint, comments most welcome. Dont worry this is not going to be used, it just a practice
earache Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 I think that looks quite good, especially for a first attempt
