matthew413
I'm guessing that anyone stupid enough to try and blackmail someone over a computer game (dear oh dear) probably isn't old enough to be sued anyway. Be better off getting in touch with mummy and daddy, see if they can get the computer taken away for a while. I've been playing games over the Internet since 1998 and there have always been script kiddies like this in every game. There always will be, it's nothing new. Admins: just change your passwords and carry on, you're wasting your own time stressing about it. Put it all in perspective, does it really matter....? Mav
Admins: just change your passwords and carry on, you're wasting your own time stressing about it. Put it all in perspective, does it really matter....? Matthew, If this was confined to UK Dirt (ie Forum & Databases), then putting in perspective - no it doesn't really matter. All it is doing is stopping alot of people enjoying what they do on each day of the week. Admin would come and go, but UK Dirt would continue, having issued what it needed to, to prevent the situation occurring again. Unfortunately, the individual / individuals, who I am sure are known due to Johno's actions, have infiltrated areas outside of UK Dirt, ie Hotmail accounts, which DOES REALLY MATTER, as these are personal to the individual concerned. No matter what happens within UK Dirt, this "Hacking" of hotmail & other accounts has to be stopped or where will it end. So if criminal proceedings are the way forward to stop this then so be it. Even if the individual / individuals are under age, then parents will be accountable. This goes for the person whom allegidally hacked the "Plonk" forum. It is a criminal offence. It is a great shame that it has come to this, as it has harmed various areas. But it is certainly making Drivers/Admin stop and think whether they want to leave themselves open to this, hence why resignations are occurring, not because they are guilty of wrongdoing. ADMIN - STAY UNITED, CONTINUE FOR THE MAJORITY AND LET THE POLICE/SOLICITORS SORT THE MINORITY.
matthew413
Whatever, waste your money consulting solicitors if you must. As soon as you mention Hotmail and a computer game account they'll struggle to keep a straight face.

As soon as you mention Hotmail and a computer game account they'll struggle to keep a straight face. So its ok for folk to hack your emails and other accounts etc ? matthew413
No it's not ok, but it happens to hundreds of people each day, it's an accepted risk of using Hotmail (and any other free email service, people should seriously consider if using a FREE email service for important stuff is a wise idea...) Do a google for "hacked hotmail" and you'll find thousands of people who've had the same thing happen to them, and load of video guides about how to do it. It's part and parcel of using a free, popular email service I'm afraid. Edited October 4, 2008 by matthew413
