A total of 27 cars took to the track, and the meeting was fraught with action, with the bumpers flying in. In fact you could probably say that the meeting was one of those end of season metings with nothign left to play for. Anyway, onto the results, and its a case of where to start!!! Well done to Daveyboy for taking the whites and yellows race, and Sybe who took the Blues reds and surperstars race. Infact this was the first of 3 races that Sybe was to win on the evening, as he went on to take the Trust Final and the Champions of Champions race, so well done to him. As for the meeting, it was Jimmy that took the meeting final. Jimmy is the only driver to win an F1 final at Northampton, having won the final at all 3 meetings that have been raced there this season. Thats some feat so well done Jimmy. I would be interested to hear what they thought of the racing. And what about the idea of running the meeting from the server, rather than keep coming and going from chat. Did we like this idea? Should we be looking to do this more next year, if not all the time? And finally, was 27 cars all in too much? One of the things that I have discussed with one of the Amind team, which I will discuss at the admin meeting with the rest of the team is to do similar to real life, and have a cap on the car numbers depending on the size of the track. For example, Sexberium would hold 27 cars comforatbly, but I am not sure we would dream of putting that amount on say Belle Vue. Somethng to be thinking about and discussing perhaps? Well done Sybe on the 2 final wins and Jimmy for the main "meeting final" win. just to say about how many cars that raced i felt it was too many, maybe 22 at maximum but 27 was meaning there was no space etc whatsoever, also made it harder at times to lap backmarkers or move out the way for being lapped. The London Allstar Posted November 7, 2008 Report Share Posted November 7, 2008 After having time to reflect, i think that my personal problem with northampton is that im about .5-.7 off the pace each lap during a race which means that i hold people up mid corner, get the jump down the straight but then hold them up again next corner. It feels like this leads to people cutting up the inside and hitting my rear wheel / side impact bars rather than the rear bumper, dunno how true this is as my game doesent save the replays but thats what it feels like from bonnet cam. Obviously this spoils the racing for me, i got very anoyed after the europeans and equally last night. I'm prety sure that its because im so slow and not because people cant punt properly. I liked the format, with being in the server all the time, as you could either watch the races or you could go and get a drink ect. I also liked the nubmer of races we had last night, when we have a quick meeting format where its all in, 2 heats a final and a GN it feels like the meetings finished by the time its jsut got going and i leave feeling that there should of been more. Something to add to the suggestions thread mayby. Thanks for RM Jonho, and all those involved with the server and thos who stewarded the races.
