Hello :042:

Hooty,Grasser,Drumstick and myself are taking part in the simdy 500. Its basically a online version of the indy 500 and they have tried to copy it as much as they possibly can.

Its being ran over 3 weeks it started last weekend where there were 4 qually races, This weekend there are 2 qually races 2day and the draw for the time trials and the time trials take place 2morra, Next week see's saturday being the last chance qually race for people that were bumped out of the time trials, Then sunday its the Simdy 500.

This was another great idea from me i saw it advertised and said to the lads lets have ago we didnt know however drumstick had done this (and crashed out) twice before. So we got demonstone on the case with a skin for us and we signed up and away we went. About 50 people had entered who had alot more experiance than us at this sorta thing and i thought we would be well out of our depth but hey we thought we would have a go.

So you had to book in for a maximum 3 of the 6 qually races and had to finish at least 2 of them to get a pass into the time trials. The races were 50 laps long each and in all fairness i thought it was gonna be a hard task as in praccy in our server we couldnt do 10 laps without hitting the wall never mind 50! lol

so we all booked in for Q race 3.

Kinda surprising really hooty stuck it on outside row 1 Grass was 7th i was 16th and drum was i cant remeber but i think it was top 10. The race went to plan we all finished and got a pass for it Grasser and i came 3rd and 4th i think hooty was about 9th after a bad pitstop stratagey.

Again we booked in for Q race 4 apart from drumb as he had already advanced because he did a Q race 1.

Mostly as the race before went really however we decided not to qualify for it and stay at the back and stay out of trouble. And out of trouble we stayed until the last bend on lap 49 then it all went pete tong well for me a grasser anyway. Hooty missed the carnage amd came home in 5th grasser crossed the line with 3 wheels and i well i didnt quite make it i tried everying to get over the line and get a pass but it was not to be. Admin looked into the incident and 3 days later finally gave me a pass and others because there was nothing we could do to avoud it. So happy days we has all advanced to the time trials.

So Myself and grass booking into do Q race 5 this evening just for a bit more experiance in traffic really and what can i say Team UKsom really were doing it for ol geogre as we locked out the front row in qualifying with me on pole and grass 2nd.

We pulled out over a 2 second lead by lap 4 then there were yellows and that closed us all up, However we kicked on and were 1st and second till the next yellow on about lap 19. Grasser thought he would be clever and try and short fill however it didnt work and he got caught in a accident and dropped down the field, there was a yellow with about 3 to go i was still leading at this point and it was a 1 lap dash to the flag and i lost by .048 as we crossed the line lol ah well we bothe finished so it was another pass.

So 2 morra see's us all taking a place in the time trials and that is live on psr tv so if you are really bored u can come and watch us uk dirt should get a good mention aswell :)

The draw for Time trials is at 10 pm 2 nite so i will post on here what sorta times we should be running :)

The race is also live on psr tv if we get that far we should know by this time 2morra our pace seems spot on so fingers crossed we should get in.

As you can see Hooty was on it like a car bonnet and qualifyed in a fantastic 3rd place well done to him

Grasser had a good run in 19th im sure he can tell you more as i was waiing to see if i was gonna be bumped out lol

Drumbstick showed us all how not to do it as he slapped the wall pretty hard and never made it in unfortunatly he never got a second run either but he still has chances in the lcqr next weekend when the final 3 spots will be up for grabs.

Myself i thought my times were poor couldnt get the car where i wanted it to go coupled with earlier in practise i hit the wall on every run i took so i didnt really want to do that so 22nd is not all bad my race pace is much better and hopefully i can move up thru the pack in the race.

The race begins at 6pm next sunday night Uk time that is and you can watvh it on psr tv also u can see the replay of the time trials from yesterday to.

Cheers

Hot of the press

Drumstick has just came 3rd in the last chance race and that means he will start 33rd and last on the grid.

Not the worst place in the world me thinks.

the early laps have seen lots of controversy with lapped traffic involved in the lead group following an early yellow.......but after 40 laps....Grasser leads at Simdy!! :D

Posted

At 50 laps, Grasser pits from the lead to regain the track in 14th under yellow, currently Drumbstick is 1 lap down, Aub 2 laps down but wwith only 1/4 of the race in the book there's a lot to happen yet.....

Posted

Yep, Grasser moves back to the front thanks to pitting out of sequence and being able to stay on track as the leading group pits under caution at lap 70.....

Aub and Drumbstick running line astern ahead of the leader at the moment..... Grasser dropped down the field slightly but still in the front 5 and with the caution just out at lap 85, the leaders'll be bunched back together.....

by 'eck, its not short on controversy is it.....leader gets his nose knocked off in the pitlane lol! ouch.....

Grasser back up to 3rd at the caution at lap 90, and i think Drumb gets to stay on the lead lap, currently classified 12th and was ahead of the leader when the caution flew....

Wipeout!!!! lmao

Lol, he had that coming, he was the one that took the leaders nose off a few laps ago lol

Solid work from Drumb to get back on the lead lap and now in 9th place under the caution  Grasser leads as we pass halfway :)

Cmon grasser do it for the brits and uk dirt

Lmao, Le Daub RIGHT in the middle of the action, being used as the 'draft patsy' in the battle for the lead :D (and trying to keep on the lead lap too....)

hehe my pleasure, its a right riveting watch.....Grasser and Aub pit together to try and get a draft run going, Drumb up to 4th with 80 to go.....

60 to go, Grasser back up to 3rd, Drumb 6th, Aub 13th? (1 lap down.....i'm wondering whether it was a pit violation stop/go boooo)

i think aub and grasser pitted the same time and drafting together, aud takin one for the team lmao

Grasser drops to pit with 43 to go, which should be his last stop.....cars ahead and behind (including Drumb) need to pit yet, so we'll see how this settles out....show and tell time ;)
