Mav Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) Well Done Corny - superb in Final m8 didn't put a wheel wrong. Thats the nearest to a final I will get but to have top scorer that will do me nicely - Well Chuffed Yarmouth for W&Y's - Will be really chuffed to retain the title - fingers crossed After that - Pipe and slippers time (unless I feel confident for the Championship races) ps See what happens without the Bully Boys Edited September 20, 2012 by Mav
Evnos338 Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 well done corny for final and mav + tom for points thoroughly enjoyed tonight proper racing tonight, and i got some good results (apart from being spun in final by spike with a few laps left but never mind ) cya all next week
Corny 391 Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Over the moon to win that Final tonight, I haven't been feeling exactly top of the world these past few days - the hard-living lifestyle finally catching up with me maybe - so didn't really feel like taking part tonight. But, in pre-meeting practice found that I was competetive, so thought why not have a go...car setup was then quite obviously not suited as I seemed to be spinning in the Heats and I never have a heavy right foot, so can't look in that direction for an excuse. Made some changes to springs and shockers for the Final, and it seemed to work, managed to keep it together, get past the cars in front and hold on for the win. Not sure precisely how many (F1 Final wins) that is since (sadly) Kev149's site is now offline but I think maybe around the 35 mark and given my first F1 Final win was in late August 2002, it's good to still be at least capable/enthusiastic enough over a decade later to still be doing it. As far as I know I am still top of the list on that score but it would be great if Kev could provide the basic info to keep the lists that matter up to date/ongoing and so on...? Thanks Dan, the stewards and Hooty who I know came in mid-meeting, I'm a happy man tonight, I know it's no big thing winning off the front of the blues but like I say given I've been feeling rough it does mean quite a lot to me, Cheers, Corny
Matty300 Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 Well done to Corny & Mav, some eye-catching drives around a tight little circuit. An enjoyable evening I thought with some hard, fair racing which made for a pleasant meeting. Refreshing to be rewarded for practice put in & shaving tenths off lap times & not be followed in for a change.Only negative for me were post race comments which implied that working as a team would have paid dividends & improved placings. Eh? I race for myself & make no apologies for getting involved in battles that may let a leader open up an unassailable lead. The idea of team racing is best left to bangers in my opinion, & we have seen in recent weeks that people don't like banger racing in the F1 mod.
