Is he using no-cd patch and 1.72e patch? It seems to be looking in a tracks folder when all of the tracks should be in the run folder. Hope this is of some help.

Is may just a red herring but the folder where his tracks are stored should be named run.

It is a red herring,if you want to check a normal log heat puts it in c:\windows\temp every time you run the game.

This used to be a common crash log but I have not seen it for so long I cant remember the cause.

I think it is something to do with the install if everything is not done in the correct order.

Check if the guidelines were followed during install,such as choosing to play from hard drive not c.d., and running the basic game before any patches or mods were installed, if not remove it and start again.
