    help!!

Thank again ranny , I followed your instructions and no carshes sunday practice or monday racing At least my PC didn't crash , I spent most of my races crashed in the fence
  7. Thanks wrighty , I'm using a router just now, so he should be up and beating me online soon ( though the amount of wobblys he throws when were racing offline , he'll be lucky to last a week before getting banned LOL )
  8. My son wants to join UKDirt using the same broadband connection as me , I've checked and when we are both connected to the net , we both have the same IP address. Would it cause problems in heat if both of us were racing at the same time , or would we have to pick different meetings to race in ?
  9. I've got one as well , works on USB or ethernet , NIC cards ( ethernet ) are usually under a tenner and the easiest bit of hardware to fit in a PC. My son stays connected with his PC when i'm online with no noticable change in speed of my connection but I do ask him to stop MSN and limewire as they can both hog bandwidth. hope this helps .
  10. He also says ALL UK Dirt mods Wullie , post your system specs ( cpu/graphics card etc )

    help!!

Hi Ranny , just got a new pc with dual core and game crashes with the same message as post above. followed your instructions but when I try to set "affinity " , both processes are already using CPU0 , any ideas Dont change anything it sometimes does this reboot the game and your away laughing thanks rusty , I had changed the game to run in win98 mode , took off compatibility and it now shows both CPU's ticked so I'll try it on Friday’s practice. I also found a patch on AMDs site for dual core along with a handy user forum , it seems this isn't the only game that crashes unexpectedly , they suggest installing the "optimizer" and changing the PC's power management from "minimal" to "home/office " I'll update this post if it's successful or otherwise incase anyone else runs into this problem.

  13. Thanks Kendo , after using jonnyboy's great setup guide , I've went from totally embarrassing all the way up to mediocre .
  14. There is a setup gudie available on the ukdirt website in the "guides" section cheers , I'll check that
  15. I wouldn't want anyone else's setup as I find my son's one is too unstable for me to be consistent. But what would be good is a brief explanation of what each change does - I'm talking about shock, springs etc . I know enough about weights and tyre pressures to make a difference to my lap times , but the rest is a mystery to me
