Trying to get sorted for the last heat F1 meet but desktop is having none of it. Maybe laptop connected to 24'' monitor might work. Wheel is in attic somewhere. Time just seems to disappear nowadays. Been reading old pms, some well funny but reminds me of a time with business folding (we were a 2 man band and a company went down on us owing 30k plus), I certainly wasn't as relaxed as I should have been. Thats a dual processor problem, do this. Go into game, got back to windows with game running, ctr/alt/del, processes, right click heat.bin and NHeat.exe (separately) and set affinity, turn cpu 1 off. Go back to desktop during meet, don't exit game. Should sort problem because its heat not recognising second processor.

Where has anyone said they are anti Rfactor, this is some older racers thinking about coming back. The bumper is there for hitting but not banger follow ins.

If I can get the time to get my head round Rfactor, I would like another go. Me and Al going for wooden spoon - happy days. Problem is poker, takes a lot of my free time nowadays but at least I've got a free vegas holiday out of it next June.

Not sue if I'm allowed to reply as I don't race these. In previous years of racing, if the driver behind is not listed as behind me on leaderboard, I tend to let them through, as they are either lap up or lap down, especially if you are racing for position. Play safe. If its me behind and I'm quicker and have been on there bumper for a few laps (rare I know), then I will knock them wide hoping they have sense not to blast me next corner. Only means next race they are buried.

I'm assuming you are running a twin processor. If so go back to XP compatibilty then when first entering game go back to desk top, staying in game, hit control, alt, delete and in processes right click heat.bin and nheat.exe and turn off affinity 1. Ranny

I mainly race bangers but the above is the reason people have a misconception about ukdirt. In real life stockcars, are not and have never been full contact like bangers. So don't think I'm slower and a lap down so i might as well follow that blue/red/ss in. The bumpers are for nudging not full contact. Ranny

This is a dual core problem. This is Swerve's solution which I use. Cheers Ranny hi ranny ok click on ukdirt bangers to . when game menu comes up. hold down ALT + TAB. This will take you back to your desktop. then hold down CTRL , ALT and DEL this will bring up a box top left of screen,, look in list for NHeat.exe highlight it, then left click on it. box pops up , see SET AFFINITY. CLICK on it then untick CPU1 and leave CPU0 running. then do the same for Heat.Bin which is in the list of running programs also. once you have stopped the one of the cores. just close all boxes and click down bottom left NASCAR HEAT and that will take you back to your game. sounnds long winded but only takes a sec. you dont have to keep doing it. when your racing a meet , just hold down TAB and ALT to get out of game and then go into chat. you will see the nascar heat game is still running down bottom left of your screen, just click on that everytime you want to go back in from chat back into race. It works, as i cant run online unless i do this. it crashes nearly everytime, if i forget to do it. let me know if you manage it. cheers
