  1. Thanks for this .. got it now :-D
  2. Thanks :-)
  3. Is the track hosted anywhere else apart from the KDSR forums as I don't really want to register on a forum I am not going to use just to download the track
  4. Sounds like I missed a good meeting online But I did catch the real stox at BV live Had to make the choice ... which was tough :-)
  5. Bigger Image:
  6. Hi All ... Can is this design okay for use in rFactor for any of the leagues later ... The design inspiration was for the car to be dirty, old, and needing to be worked on ... Like my racing :-) Perhaps when I see myself as a better racer in the future I will lose some of the dirt! Fourwinds
  7. Have you looked at using more of the 900 degrees of steering being set in to the main logitech properties ... Also in the main rFactor settings you can in the controller settings set the deadzone and sensitivity and also the 'speed sensitivity' ... There is a setup guide here. I have my G25 setup for 400 degrees of steering currently : speed sensitivity: 50% : Force Feedback -75% : Controller Sensitivity all set to 50% : Deadzone 0%
  8. I believe it is the 'Border' option ... From: Select > Modify > Border
  9. Here is the thread I started about Steering Wheels: Thread I ended up with the G25 as I wanted the bigger degrees of movement ... And it is a very nice wheel .. I am very happy with buying it ... now I just have to get faster!
  10. I can say that Drumb was very patient with me and that I learned a lot on the night of practice ... I still have LOTS to learn but it is a very helpful thing to have some evening practice with Novices so that we can at least get around the majority of the time well ... (Not all the time in my case!)
  11. I agree ... there are some of us that coming 'not last' is good enough at the moment ... I was scarily surprised where I came with the points by just 'finishing the races' where I could ... I tried as much as possible to keep out of the way of the big boys so that I did not get fenced and a broken car The racing is getting better and better and I liked having lots of cars on track spinning around ... made it feel like a real challenge getting around the track sometimes without hitting the spun cars. I do agree about the going into the corner at full speed and nailing someone is not 'sport' but should we not be using the system in UK dirt where people get warning / bans for unsportsman like conduct if it is deemed necessary after the meeting. After looking at some of my replays, some of the incidents that look like a drivers fault from 1 car when looked at from the overview camera can be seen either as simple driver messed up a corner and was correcting (accidental errors) or other factors at fault (being nudged by someone else for example) I for one like the racing we are having and if I end up with a broken car during the racing ... thats the way of the world .. at least I don't need to know about welding to be out for the next race
  12. There are several novice skins in the tarmac class (994 - > 999) that can be used by people ...
  13. Welcome on board with the rest of us novices :-) The first meeting I took part in (a couple of weeks ago) ... I was sooo nervous but everyone treated me well and I came back for more! Will be great to see you there.
  14. I think having some idea about what a 'good' lap time is can be vital is being confident enough to race online ... I know that the first few meetings that I participated in I was terrified of making a complete fool of myself. Now I feel that I am still off of the pace , but the last beta test I started from the front of the grid as a white top instead of the back as a novice and felt confident to do that ... This was due to learning the tracks, getting help on car setup and also know what a realistic pace can be.
  15. Sounds like a good idea ... is it the top 100 laps or the top 100 people's hot laps ... If it is the first I have no chance of being on it ... if it is the second perhaps I can be :-)
  16. The car wheels will try to take the path of least resistance ... this is what the FFB does, it does perhaps over exaggerate the re-alignment of the wheels .... How do you set 'real feel' on the wheel / rFactor ?
  17. Fourwinds booking in ...
  18. Using an NVIDIA GeForce 7800GT Resolution: 1680x1050 32bit with Shader Level: Quality (DX9) Anti-Aliasing: None Video Driver: 94.24 DirectX 9.0c
  19. I was wrong ... It was Stacey using your skin :-) It just looked like you .. and I still blame your car [attachmentid=19294]
  20. Images from Last Nights test: The sparks are flying! [attachmentid=19288] Pictures of both the KR3WRacway (Left) and Fareham (Right) [attachmentid=19287] [attachmentid=19292] What happens after Drumbstick turns right on you out of a corner! [attachmentid=19293] Fun was had, the shale tracks have bumps which just feel right on a force feedback wheel ... Good job on the tracks!
  21. Exactly I just have to work out how best to use it on shale now!
  22. I use full on the feedback but then turn down the strength from -100% to -75% so that I am fighting the steering wheel a little but I also can tell when the wheel is going the right way ... It tends to pull into the banked corners on Birmingham and want to opposite lock on the shale tracks a little .. which tends to help me actually get around the corners and not just spin around.

The link just goes to the main shortcircuit website ... where abouts is the article / what is it called please ... Is it this article? Shifting Your Weight Distribution on a race car
  24. Hutch seems to spend a lot of time in those screenshots on just 2 wheels ... This must be a new way of reducing the tire wear and make the shale tires last longer!
  25. I have Virgin media cable here and when I was connecting to the server you put up I had no lag issues at all ... It appears that most people I talk to on the UK Dirt Public server complain about the lag.
