  1. Is there a reason why the UKDirt public server always seems to be lagging badly ... Any other server I try with F1 Stockcars on it seem to be running normally .. but on the UKDirt Public server my chats can take upto several minutes to appear ....
  2. Welcome ... the more novices the better ... I'm still feeling my way around the circuits and trying to keep the front pointed in the right direction :-) I am also just using the novice skins at the moment to play online.
  3. Found on another Forum that there is a 'return to center' error in the default G25 setup that you should change to make the wheel a lot better in all the settings apart from 'Low' ... The line is in : rFactor/UserData/Controller/LogitechG25.ini and you should change: FFB steer damper coefficient="0.17500" // Coefficient to use for steering damper. Range: -1.0 to 1.0 to FFB steer damper coefficient="-0.17500" // Coefficient to use for steering damper. Range: -1.0 to 1.0
  4. After reading all the comments on here and other places I finally got myself the G25 today ... Now I just have to get it setup properly ... Any profiles out there for rFactor or any ideas on how strong I should put the force feedback etc? thanks for everyone who put comments in ...
  5. Some very nice pictures there .... I can see the way to pause the replays and change some of the camera angles, but you seem to have some I can't get to with the six view keys I know (Insert/Delete/Home/End/Page Up/Page Down) ... Am I missing a whole heap of other view keys?
  6. Seems like I missed a very good meeting .. although I don't think my shale form is upto racing in a meeting yet .... Will hope to join in the next tar meeting and be a little more competitive than I was last time :-)
  7. well yes and no lol, if u get the car perfect round the corners u are alright but as soon as the car starts snaking a bit most of the time you spin because of how many time u have to spin the wheel what i would do is buy the cheaper of the 2 to start with just to get the feel of a 900 degree wheel just incase u dont acctually like that amount of degree and if u dont u may have saved your self £70 by taking the cheaper option Cheers Gaz I do not think the normal MOMO has the 900 degree steering ... I think it is only available on the G25 ...
  8. After getting used to the extra steering degrees ... did you find yourself better able to control the cars left/right as you had a more fine grained tuning ?
  9. So looking at a new steering wheel to replace my old Thrustmaster ... I have narrowed it down to 2: Logitech MOMO Racing Force Wheel/pedals - 75GBP or Logitech G25 Racing Wheel, PlayStation 3 & 2 and PC (USB) - 145GBP From looking at the differences (2 pedals to 3 pedals) , 900 degree steering .... Is the G25 worth the extra 70GBP ontop of the MOMO? I mainly need it for rFactor Brisca F1 mod so gears / clutch are not really needed ... Wondering if that extra degrees of steering will be useful. Let me know what your thoughts / experiences are of both if you have them please or have used them.
  10. The current plan of action at the moment is for me and Danskin to run some official tests with the beta after this years f1 world final, could be a series, could be a string of unrelated meetings, we're not sure yet. It will probably follow ukdirt rules/format, just so we can really evaluate what would need doing if we are to move UKDirtF1s onto this mod next season. When we do start the testings, then I will compile another skinpack for anybody new (but not to update skins, because there is no point). With regard grades, I don't think its really worth it atm, but obviously graded starts will need to be tested, so we'll probably do something along the lines of the heats being random grids, then the final gridded in 'grades' according to how many points have been scored in the heats. For example, if Scrapman and Hutch top score with 14 points, then they will be the superstars for the meeting final, and so on. Obviously these are just ideas at the moment but I don't really want to be releasing lots of skinpacks with correct grades for a mod which is still only being tested. The full mod is looking nice and healthy now, is probably quite a way off yet, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait. At the moment we have 60 - 70 real life skins on the agenda and 9 finished chassis - with plenty of upgrades to personalize them so there should be a diverse range of cars on track. Exciting stuff anyway, thanks again to everyone for showing so much enthusiasm Thanks for all the hard work .. it is really appreciated by those racing the cars ... Any help I can give you I will try to ... Just contact me by PM if needed.
  11. With Drumb's guidance ... I finally got down to the low 14s ... Yeah :-) Thanks Drumb! Birmingham_2006_HOT_LAP.zip
  12. Yeah .. down to 14.5 now as my fastest lap around Birm ... low 14's here I come :-) A not very tidy back straight .. but feeling better on driving now and not hitting the barriers as much. I keep tweaking my steering wheel setup and the car setup to make it feel better Birmingham_2006_HOT_LAP.zip
  13. Shale is scary at the moment .. but Sexberium is less scary than Ipswitch shale .. there is indeed more 'run off' room for the people trying to get the car going forwards / sideways and not spinning on the spot!
  14. Do you tend to drift wider than the 'rubber line' showing on the track for the bends or try to stay within that bottom groove ? The couple of faster laps I have managed to achieve have been when I got the car wider on the bends so I could get the power down earlier and not drift as wide down the straights. Birmingham_2006_HOT_LAP.zip
  15. My fastest race lap from last night, and the GN replay so you can watch the whole race from incar Thanks for this Drumbstick ... I will be watching the hot lap several times to analyse it ... :-) Then *all* I have to do it work out how to duplicate it on the track ....
  16. Low 14s high 13s for race pace. A few of us as low as 13.7s Any chance of seeing one of your hot laps posted somewhere so I can 'drive onboard' to learn more about the way you drive the track please.
  17. Time to do more practice with the Thrustmaster ... It does have pedals but I don't use them as they tend to slide on the carpet .. but the lower shifters are analog and do allow for holding of speed around the corners.
  18. As a novice ... Do people coast into the corners or brake hard then throw it left? Any driving tips would be appreciated to bring my 15+ times down to the low 14s on Birm. I should be about Wednesday or Thursday evenings if you want to jump on the server for an hours coaching. To answer your question I am trailbraking all the way to the apex then feeding the throttle in. What controler are you using. I was yesterday using the keyboard and I was more comfortable with this .. but I do have Thrustmaster 360 moderna wheel that I have to hold onto the desk as the clamp has broken ;-) Wednesday is a better day for me to be trying to do any practice thanks.

  20. Thanks for the very fun meeting guys .... Now I know how much I have to learn to even be in the same track as you ... let alone be competitive! Thanks for the setups from those that sent them to me , I will look at them and work out how they differed from what I had put and how I can best use them. Overall A+ fun even though I was 3 laps down in 16!
  21. Of course that is why we are running these open meetings. Make sure you have the skinpacks, and you can use any car that does not have a name mext to the number in the list Excellent thanks ... then number 994 signing in ... Novice in the extreme .. I have both the tarmac and shale packs installed from here and some of the real life driver packs also from rfactorcentral ... :-)
  22. Is there space for a complete novice who is trying to get into rFactor Brisca and see if supporting UK dirt is worth it ? If so ... are there rules as to which car / number I should be using ?
