  1. Yep, Francois and one day you'll win the Sissystox World Final. I guess you don't even know what a real stock car track looks like. Venray better, hopefully they will get their scrutineering right next time they've got a big meeting coming up. Rant over, Edman.
  2. I'll be there with the family. Edman.
  3. Thx lads. Cheers, Edman.
  4. A bit late but happy birthday to both of you. Edman.
  5. Happy birthday big man. Haha 46, you old git, which reminds me, I still have to try and reach 46. Get your bum out to a meeting this year. Try Posterholt because I doubt I'll be going to Venray this year. Glad I live a bit more to the north so I can't smell MC. Cheers, Edman.
  6. All you need is just a little patience. Cheers, Edman.
  7. Sure the promoters don't work together, ever tried to get them to co-operate, I did. Even when we were trying to set up a drivers commitee for the F2, there was misunderstanding. Psycko, Venray also does the three heat thing without a final, bar the F1's that is. The Tooz race 3 heats and a so called final, but the 5 top point scorers of the day receive the trophies. It's not entirely true the English promoters work together, although they seem to be making more effort to do so than over here on the Continent. Also the Tooz and the Saloons are bringing the people into Posterholt and yes there would be a lot more cars present if it wasn't for politics. Mind you thet 25 F2's or Saloons at Posterholt would make for the best racing on the continent. We could talk about the safety issue for weeks. I once completely slagged someone off who made a comment on the safety at Posterholt on local tv. It's true, a catchfence will be an addition to safety, certainly for loose objects. O and one of the promoters has already gone bad with me, if you like to call it that way, shame it's the biggest of the three dutch promoters and I'm getting a lot of stick from ignorant dutch fans. I've given up on the promoters over here co-operating and I'm talking about the three dutch promoters. The Belgian promoter has got his act together and is doing perfectly allright without the other three. Cheers, Edman.
  8. Yep, guess there's something wrong with that darn transponder again. Had a look at some other races and speeds are lower there. It still says 126 km/h as beste snelheid though. maybe I misread it but it doe'sn't say average speed. If it's true what you say that the speeds at Venray are 140 km/h than something should be done very quickly now. Cheers, Edman.
  9. Psycko, I was at Ipswich in 1984 and they were definately called Superstocks instead of F2's. Edman.
  10. Psycko, Ipswich is a Spudworth track, they don't race F2's. Think the fastest F2 track will be Hednesford but I doubt it's faster than Venray. Just take a look at the my laps website and you'll be able to check out the speeds. Note that the 126 km/h was not an average speed but a highest speed. Still this is too fast. O, and what's wrong with the very small tracks, I used to love Tilburg, it was small and you didn't need 25 cars out on track to get a good race. H33, maybe you guys should sign up with CAMSO for their alternative F1 stox, just to put pressure on Maessen. Remember, if he goes long track racing, there will prolly be 1 or 2 drivers left capable of winning, the rest will quit or go race at Lelystad. I'm thinking of doing more dirt meetings next year, usually cheaper entrance price and more action. The EZHACO tracks are not that far away and I enjoyed my first meeting there. Cheers, Edman.
  11. Mark, the straights are so wide, 5 or 6 F1's are able to race side by side, if you reduce them to half, cars will not be able to use as much track as they are now, so the ideal line will be completely different, sure you also have to alter the corners, but let's put the top speed down first. I mean, I've seen a top speed of 126 km/h from one of the F2 boys and that's rediculous. As I said, the changes made have made the track even faster. I really hope they're going to do something to bring the speeds down, but I doubt they will. If they widen turns 1 and 2 like they did to turns 3 and 4 the racing will very soon be as boring as the racing at Lelystad. Maybe build a smaller track with a pos and wire fence?? Cheers, Edman.
  12. Why make Venray, it's too fast and there's not enough contact. The Tooz are screaming their heads off after the changes made prior to the September meeting. Gee, there are no diffs available to run the Tooz properly on that track. And by the way, following the going ons in the papers I don't even think there will be any meetings there anymore. Majer. if you're from Maastricht, there's a track closer to you than Venray, isn't there. I'd hate to see Venray close but unless they make the straights half as wide as they are now, they will never get the speed out of the cars and will thus never get decent stock car races there. For those who say, but what about the Hotrods, well, yes, what about them. That formula has been devaluated by the drivers themselves. Useless contact is just one of the things. After dropping the Stockrods it might be an idea to drop the Hotrods and Formula Toyota too and make it all contact formula's up there. Maybe invite the dirt boys over for every meeting, so they can smoke their tyres. Cheers, Edman.
  13. Happy birthday Bozz. Edman.
  14. Proficiat met je verjaardag, Patrick. Vooral niet naar Yorick luisteren en gewoon onbehouwen zuipen, nu kan het nog, LOL. Groetjes, edje.
  15. I've seen that laptime and it proves that changing the track this way does not have the result they'd like to have it. It's even faster now. Going by the damage on Cor's car it will be costy, but an aerofoil would have cost him quite some money too. At leats Cor walked away unharmed. Hopefully that bad luck of yours will end soon, so you can give the big boys a run for their money, you're almost there. Cheers, Edman.
  16. Big well done to you for your Venray results Pacco. Shame you lost a couple of places in the final. What went wrong in that last corner. If you continue like that in the Higgie, you'll be unbeatable. Nice acrobatics from your mate Cor in heat one. Scored himself a 10 out of 10 with that midair roll, ecspecially because the aerofoil had no damage to it. Cheers, Edwin.
  17. 1. Roof colors back------Agree 2. Grid position is known from each driver Agree 3. If winner is driven around the tracks nothing else happen (no entry of the new league allreday)-- Not enough time to wait, you can get a new formula on track during a lap of honour, just quit the so called interviews. 4. First race... commentator welcome each driver with name He does that now, at least the Belgian commentator, the german one only tells funny stories about how he lives on Crete and how he has survived several emergency landings when coming down for his commentating job. 5. more rollin starts with starters All races at Venray are started with a rolling start, bar the Hotrods and vacuumcleaners, if I'm correct 6. more yellow flags instead of race stops (this works well in england)I do see more yellow flags instead of reds these days. 7. 1st to 3rd back in the control car (if possible mechanic of 1st drive the car behindWhy should they do that after each race, the winner is enough. At Venray they hand the trophies over after the meeting, at Posterholt the first three of each formula get a lap of honour. 8. all contact classes try to get the damaged cars of the track after race on their own (hopefully their will more drivers get friends)this does happen a lot, but sometimes the cars can't be pushed of the track because of the damage sustained. More drivers get friends, I have to laugh about that. many drivers are friends and there are also enemies, it has always been that way and it'll always be that way. 9. (for venray) get that information board workingThe scorreboard works, they only need somebody who can operate it or maybe they need the user manual. 10. make a investment into a raceday newspaper (like i got them from 1986 from nettetal)I reckon you don't know the costs involved in a project like that. I work in a printing works and it's not cheap, sure Venray could pay for it, but I'd see the entrance money rise through the roof. I've had two days of good racing for 20 euros at Posterholt, maybe you could tell me what you pay to get in at Venray for both days, because I don't know that. What we need back in speedway sport are visitors that know the classes and their drivers... that got their local heros... and know the rules. You've got a points here, people should know the formulas and the basic rules. Don't give them a rulebook or they become a pain in the promoters butt, just like me. Cheers, Edman.
  18. Psycko, Your absolutely right about the roof colours, I've never seen black, purple or green graded drivers. The only thing is that if you're gonna change the roof colours, you have to have a commentator who knows what he's talking about and a bit knowledge of English and German wouldn't do any harm either. I almost peed myself when I heard the commentator call the English drivers up to come to the runway. Irony wants that there's an airfield for remote control aircraft right next to the Posterholt pits, so if the English could have easily taken the pee out of the commentator by lining up in front of the airfield. That same commentator wasn't happy at all when I confronted him with his English and German, well and Dutch for that matter, because he's a Belgian. Cheers, Edman.
  19. Dunno Ian, Don't take this as official, but if they're going for the national points than Mark will probably on the tird row. From the visiting drivers he'll have the highest points total. Once again, this is not official but just the most logical thing to do. I keep saying it, there'll be no stopping Schut except for mechanical problems. He didn't use his own car at Posterholt for nothing you see. About taking note of the BriSCA rulebook. Best thing for UK drivers to do when over here is to shelf the rulebook. I've seen more drivers use two cars at the same meeting. I've seen drivers not being black flagged with a loose spring guard. Hence during the weekend they put Allen Cooper, who is a blue top in the red grade, while Martyn Coles a red top, was put in the blue grade in one race. After asking Allen why he had to start with the reds, he said there was no reason given to him. Psycko, I'll try to explain without being rude, but who cares about the Hotrods. They don't race according to international rules anyway. They're not Nationals, because the NHRPA don't want them. The same goes for the outlaws. Face it, the Hotrods and any other formula that races at Venray are just a support to the F1's. The funny thing is that support formulea like the F2 and Saloons outshine the F1's on more than one occasion a year, although the last meeting the F1's finally lived up to their main event status with two rolls. After this weekends racing I actually look forward to Venray and hope to see some good racing. Shame they put the rods on, because it would have been better if it was a contact only weekend. Cheers, Edman.
  20. Psycho, Best get off to Posterholt as there will be action today. We got a little taster yesterday and there was nothing at stake then. 8 English F2's and hard racing. Shame for the H52 team who got fenced twice, but when you go out with the big boys, you're gonna get fenced by the big boys. Cheers, Edman.
  21. No MC, It's got nothing to do with that. Firstly the promoter is willing to pay every formula the same amount. Don't jump me for it if he hasn't payed anything, but that's the way he always does it. And my opinion is simple, why have 5 F1's race at the track when you already have 9 formulas on a raceday. He doesn't want to say to any of them to stay at home, he rather leaves the F1's of the fixturelist as they are not a regular formula anyway. Now about safety matters. I've just heard that the F1 field drivers do not have to wear all the fireproof stuff the rest of the drivers have to wear. Seems they told the promoter they'd stay away if they had to buy the stuff. This is what I mean, he should've been strong and say, if you're not gonna than please stay away. Now he's gonna have a problem next week, as for sure other drivers will not be happy with it. That's Venray for you, these rules for some and other rules for others. I'm really curious what the visiting British drivers, if any, have to say about this. Cheers, Edman.
  22. Get well soon Mart. Edman.
  23. I wanted to write a really big story, but hey, I ain't gonna. Patrick and Mark, if you'd like to know my grief against Venray, just ask me and I'll tell you. It has got nothing to do with drivers, not even with the accomodation. It's the best accomodation there is in dutchland. The tracks too long in my opinion, at least for the Tooz it is, but like Mark said it's my personal opinion. I don't talk about money for the F1 at Posterholt because I don't know what happened and that this story has two sides to it. But here's my opinion on that matter, if drivers want to get paid, fine, but why, it's a hobby and I haven't told any F1 driver he should get one of those, have I. And why pay one formula, just pay em all or none of them, again it's the driver that wants to race a thing like that, I haven't forced him into it. Now this topic went into some banter between me and MC. I just wrote some things down that are true. I didn't want to offend you Patrick, it's just banter. We've done it before and I'm sure this thing will come up again sometime. See Patrick, you know me and I know you and I'm always in for some fun. I've got my own opinions and I stick with them. I know you do the same. By the way Patrick, do you come out to play this weekend. Cheers, Edman.
  24. Posterholt is a stock car track, Venray isn't, which means better races with 12 cars as Venray with 45. They only let 30 out on track anyway. Shame that people are scared to come down to a real mens track. O, and Posterholt gets all the top guns out, both of them, LOL. 5-1. The 1 is for having more cars. Just got Short Circuit Mag today and I expect problems next week. Maybe they're gonna insult me too. Who cares, gives me a reason too................. Cheers, Edman.
  25. Posterholt doesn't tell me what I can or can not put in my reports. 4-0 Hence they aren't even angry when I write something negative, as long as it's the truth. Edman.
