I had exactly the same problem not long after my pc was built. It turned out that my PC was running way too hot, installed a couple of extra fans job sorted.

Try going to driverguide.com, I tend to get my drivers from there and its free.

What version of windows are you using. Did you get a driver disc.

When you wiped your hard drive, did you partition it, I always found in the past that if I didn't partition the drive and installed windows on a partition of its own it always said I had less disc space than I actually had.

When you have run your virus scan and it say it has deleted it, if it keeps coming back its because it is living in your system restore area. Run the virus scan Delete the file Switch off system restore Run the virus scan again If all clear, reboot then switch back on system restore That is what I have done in the past and it ususally works.
