i believe you can in theory and it has a dds exporter built in - as long as you can open PSD files and cope with the layers then you should be able to work with GIMP Cheers Wrighty, im trying to get photoshop at the min to make things easier but ill see if i can work with gimp in the meantime lol about time i tried my own skins and ventured online lol instead of hasseling you guys for real life skins lol

can you use the programme GIMP to paint the rfactor skins ??? and is there a tutorial for it also ??

yea mate its the latest version !! it seems to be all the tracks, was racing mostly on northampton, and coventry but i tried other tracks and its the same thing, 5-6 laps in and the rest of the field disintegrates lol !! id like to try online but i only use my keyboard for controls although im gettin decent lap times lol !!

Is there any way to prevent all the cars from crashing after about 6 laps of racing on the offline version ?? it only seems to do this with the f2 mod, all the others i can race with fine but the f2s, im getting about 6 laps done then im on my own as the others crash, retire with engine failure ?? thanks guys !!

so i see mate lol 1 thing..... i noticed that on the tracks ive mentioned there ISNT a map.mas file ??? any relevance ??

went through the config and tried that mate ?? :-( anyone ????? ok firstly check that your rfactor config is still set to DX9 (i know mine used to lose its settings occasionally) - the texture detail is an in-game setting, so start your game and when you have the car on the spinner go to settings (between player and car select), then into display, and set the track detail to full - it sounds like some textures aren't loading because that's not set to full. If the problem persists, when the game locks (which should be during track loading screen) press ALT+TAB keys and it should return you to desktop - then click the rfactor icon in your bottom taskbar and the error box should come up - write that down and confirm specifically what textures are causing the problem please. thnx thanks for ur help wrighty, much appreciated !! the error message that appears in the box is (in blue) gmotor error loading error texture grass_004 for material dstg21_0 also global material dstg21_0

i have a problem with a couple of tracks not loading on my game, knockhill, barford and nutts corner ! when i choose any of these tracks to race on it will go to the loading screen then cut off and go back to my desk top, and sometimes an error message appears with reguards to grass textures or global material ?? any suggestions on a fix ???? thanks
