  1. I can understand the feelings of Kruiz and Nezza as I thought exactly the same thing when I first tried it. You finally get sort of decent at doing the Nascar Heat setups for F1, then you try R factor and you're a complete novice all over again, struggling to find a reasonable setup. I agree it seems to be a lot to do with the setup and also not using a steering wheel. I was thankful that a few of the lads sent me a basic setup but I was still seeming to be way of the pace, but seeing drivers like Scrapman occasionally getting wrong sort of gave me hope. Bit of tweaking here and there and I did improve a bit but still feel I'm at a great disadvantage using a gamepad, I will stick at it because I think all the work the lads have done to get this Mod in to Rfactor is well worth it. I think at the moment though without a steering wheel is always going to put you at least a couple of 10ths off the pace. Maybe there are some quick rFactor F1 drivers using gamepads? If so let us know to give us some hope.
  2. On mine I reboot, as soon as the PC is starting up and before windows loads, I keep tapping the delete key, then the BIOS menu comes up.
  3. First time I've done it on mine but I use the line tool, either 1 pixel wide or maybe 2 for the Rfactor F1s in my case. But make sure you bring the line/layer to the front, experiment with the line tool and see how it goes. Maybe there is a better way, not sure.

    Jolt Server.

Totally agree, lot more fun racing and still plenty of time to practise/qualify.
  5. I'd be worried it was possibly the hard drive, if you haven't a back up/2nd hard drive I'd think of investing in one, you could then change it so the new one has the operating system on it and is the main drive and retrieve all you need off the old hard drive. Check it's not perhaps getting too hot first and that one of the fans isn't making the screeching sound first before paying out anything. It has been quite warm recently and I tend to run my PC with the cover off to help keep it cool, maybe try that, that wouldn't really stop the screeching sound you get though.
  6. Cheers for that. Went in UK Dirt Rfactor server today while a couple of others were in but this time it didn't show any mismatch.
  7. Is your main hard drive named something other than 'C'? If so all you have to do is alter the download directory which shows 'C' at the beginning to whatever your hard drive is, if it's say 'F' then it would be F:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat If this is the problem then remember that all future downlads and skins etc would also need the directory to be altered the same way as well.
  8. Cheers MoR Anyone got anymore info on the 'Hammer pc HDV mismatch', what does this refer to, couldn't it be something as simple as someone using a helmet that isn't associated with the F1 pack or is it more likely to be the way the skin was made/saved etc?

    Meeting?

I'd join in if possible, I think it would give a better idea of how good this Mod is with quite a few cars in, although I'm pretty impressed already. PS Sorry I didn't say 'cya' last night Paul and Scrappy, wasn't being ignorant, I was fighting with the steering and concentrating that much I didn't notice you go. Yes I'm having trouble handling these monsters as you can tell. Haven't even got fully to grips with Rfactor yet, let alone the setups for the F1s.

    Skinpack

Only my 2nd attempt at an F1 and of course 1st attempt with an Rfactor skin so I've still a lot to learn as you can see. Thanks for the skin guide and painting instructions MoR and thanks to whoever made the few decals/graphics I've used. Just hope I've done everything right. Not tried these online yet but hope to make a fool of myself in the very near future. WokaSnr_312_F1s.zip
  11. Maybe way off the mark but I had a similar problem about 12 months ago with screen freezes, also the PC rebooting itself without warning. Eventually I found out it was a DDR memory problem. Did these problems start after a memory upgrade perhaps? The problem I had was that the memory didn't seem to run at the speed it was designed for so I had to lower the speed by going in to the BIOS (don't know the technical jargon). Since then I can't remember the last time I had any problems at all with it, it's been 100% reliable. Hope you get it sorted.
  12. I quite liked the XJS Eventer after Woka managed to get one for Civil War 1, I'd never seen one before. It was the last car running in the DD that day with the V12 being unstopable. I remember Woka saying "it just would not die". Just hope someone manages to make one for the game.
  13. Tried a race at Bristol UK and the cars were jumping all over the place on the rolling lap, will this problem be sorted? Now finished mine so my kid can thrash it to pieces today. Sorry, can't do renders.
  14. Nice one, love the Yamaha sound, couldn't help but mess about with the front and back though.
  15. Now I don't know a lot about game problems but could it be something to do with where you have the game, the standard directory would be something like C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\ But above it shows C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\UK Dirt\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\Data\ When you download the skinpacks etc, the default place would be similar to the first directory above unless you change it manually, just a thought.
  16. Nice one Swindy, keep up the good work.
  17. I'm not saying you did, but Never move a PC when its turned on, amongst other things you can destroy your hard drive!! No I never have it on when i move it. I've just had a problem with it for a while where it turns itself off and will only work in a certain position but i've tried everything to solve it bar getting a new motherboard! Just another thought, I used to have a problem with the PC rebooting itself quite often. I eventually found out that it was a RAM memory problem. Although the DDR memory I have could/should run at 400, the system becomes unstable and reboots itself quite often. Lowering the speed to 333 has fixed the problem and the system is very stable. Saying that and don't ask me why, once or twice when switching the PC on I've heard a long beep which now I can identify as the CMOS changing the memory setting automatically altering the speed back up to 400. Now I recognise this sound (which doesn't happen very often), I can quickly alter the speed back to 333 in CMOS. Maybe nothing to do with your problem...but you never know.
  18. If you haven't already tried it, it might be worth viewing the 'Task Manager' by hitting the Ctrl/Alt/Delete keys to see what's running in the background if anything. Note the CPU usage while you don't have anything running, mine shows 0% - 1%, if it's reading high then you need to know what's running in the background. Again if you haven't already tried it, perhaps a Broadband Speedtest just to make sure that something drastic hasn't happened to your connection. You can try it here... http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html
  19. The Mk2 Jag that I've been doing on and off since about 1987! already has those type of wheels on in game I may get around to finishing it soon. [attachmentid=11296] That would be good Nick, really nice motor, sure it would be popular. Hope the physics of the car make it competetive with similar era cars. Looking forward to it's release if you can find time.

    Renders

That'll teach you to get in the way of Woka and Woka Snr Rikard. Well done mate.
  21. Good luck Albz, hope everything goes well. Only clashed wheels with you since the latter part of last year but always found you to be a very competetive and fair online driver. Hope you do manage to join us again occasionally once you've settled in. All the best mate.
  22. Well done mate, all the work and time put in will be appreciated I'm sure.
  23. Have a great Bithday mate, no mobile chicane to get passed tonight then.
