  1. Well done all, sorry I couldnt make it. I enjoy it more when things get hectic! Glad to see BigAl scoring a 6th, and danskin maintaining his current form. The points scheme is: Heats: 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1 Consolations: Non-scoring Grand Final: 25, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4 'B' Final: 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1 (no points scored where there are less than 12 cars in the race) GN's (if 1 race is ran): 16, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 GN's (if 2 races are run): 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 Copied from the F1 rules page on ukdirt.co.uk
  2. Hi Johno, can you confirm please that tonight is an 8:30 start, 8:20 in chat? Cheers Blymn
  3. Sorry for late notice, can I book out for tonights meeting (Wednesday 06/07/11) blymn130-white, something has come up. Will still be racing tommorrow at the European meeting. Thankyou.
  4. And I was hoping for a top 4 finish... will have to settle for 6th
  5. Sorted it, the people at rfactor are very helpful and just emailed me a new license code to my new email address.
  6. Can I have a booking please blymn 130- very light silver
  7. Hi Mav, thanks for your quick reply! I have also recently changed jobs and no longer have access to the email account I bought the liscence with I have emailed the rFactor support people telling them what's happened, hopefully they can get me back online soon!
  8. I'm hoping this is something simple that someone can point me to. My laptop- with rfactor on it, recently died. And I now need to re-install the game/mod/skins onto my PC. The bit I am struggling with is getting a new license code. Is there some way I can recover my old license from imagespace inc. to open up the game, or do I have to pay for the game again? Im sure someone must have come accross this before, but any help is appreciated! Cheers Ben
  9. I use a PS2 pad to race with, with a USB adapter, which I got for about a fiver. Don't think you can do anything with ps3 pads as they are on some sort of special Bluetooth coding... Or something... Don't really know much about it lol. Ben
  10. thanks hutch, thought it might be something simple
  11. Just downloaded knockhill for the F1 meeting coming up this Thursday, downloaded and installed fine. Run the game fine > testing > knockhill Then on the screen where it loads the track I get "Error loading texture for material LIGHTA" and the game closes. Tried the hotrod version of the track too, same thing. I have uninstalled and re-installed the track with a fresh download to no avail. I'm running Windows 7 (sp2 or whatever the latest is, it was updated a month or so ago?) any other ideas? is it a known fault? cheers ben
  12. Yes I cut you up mav, it wasnt intentional and I apologise, I also cut southy up an absolute treat in the final and cost him a decent place again by accident and I apologise. And even after accepting an apology, I still half expect to get spanked in the fence at the next opportunity. But hey its not costing me £500 worth of damage and a couple of days off work like they do out there week in week out, this is a game!
  13. Thanks for your reply Mav, I will just run a load of laps before the meeting tomorrow then. Been trying to drive it like the real formula ones did- sideways virtually all the way round! So i will try your slower is faster approach and see what I can make up from that. Heat and final and 3rd in the national will do me, im not greedy
  14. Can anyone help me out with some setup ideas for scunthorpe, I don't want a setup on a plate and I realise everone drives differently, but I just cant seem to get it to go round. My car seems to be very pushy going in and tries to spin round on me coming out, and I'm more off the pace than usual! Im basing my setup on the one in the setup guide on this site (somewhere). Any help appreciated. Cheers Ben
  15. Well... That was an experience! My car was all over the place and I spent most the night trying to keep out the way and stop the car from spinning! I'd not practiced at all and used my Cowdenbeath setup hoping it would be similar (which it wasn't!) but the saving grace was that everyone seemed to go mad in the GN fencing each other, so I just kept my nose clean and tried not to crash. Well impressed with 9th, doubled my total points score! Hopefully the shale of Scunthorpe will suit me better - there's got to be one track I'm quick on!
  16. With 22 currently booked in and no doubt more to come, I will be delighted if I make the back row of the grid (trust me I'll be trying)! As for the winner, I've not seen enough of you guys racing (especially not on shale) to make any kind of judgement, but there are alot of fast drivers in it to win it and I don't think anyone will let anyone else score an easy runaway victory. Roll on Thursday!
  17. "giving the whites too much respect in the GN," Speak for myself here, but I'm happy to dish the bumper out and fully expect it back on the next corner, so don't worry about upsetting me Mav lol. Enjoyed the meeting last night, well chuffed with a 9th in heat 2 (my best result in a proper heat), and theres a bit of healthy rivalry forming in the white grade. Roll on Kings Lynn for more of the same!
  18. Will do...
  19. Nice car that 130 Who makes these posters, would like to have a bash at one for a meeting in the future, if at all possible? Ben
  20. For bozz look in the forum at skin painting>(beta) bozz numbers TT> and it's in there Here is: 1 Chicago Style DNA Can't find a&s xtreme for free anywhere now but I only got it a couple of weeks ago so it's around. Also have a look on AZfonts that's pretty good.
  21. how do you get the white glow inside the black outline? I'm fine with everything else but have been struggling with that. I'm using photoshop 7.
  22. Hi tristan, I'm relatively new here too, and have gone through similar problems painting my first skin recently. Firstly you are going to need a decent bitmap editing programme like Photoshop or Paintshop Pro. For fonts and bits like that I just trawled the forums for what other people had already asked for, fonts like "Bozz Numbers" (for stock car style numbers), "A&S Xtreme Script" and "1 Chicago Style DNA" (for Brian Evans style writing) can all be found for free with a quick google search, and then I just looked through the fonts I had to fill in the rest, generally the bolder you can find the better. "Eras Bold ITC", "Brush Script MT" and "Stacato222 BT" are all good fonts that should already be on your PC if you have microsoft office. As for multicoloured writing, there are loads of ways to do this... The easiest way if you are a complete newbie (and he way I did it) is to use microsoft word's word art, set the background colour of your word art to the same as the colour of your car, and then just 'gradient fill' your text, and you can customise the colours you want, and do all sorts of magical things when you have a play around in the options. You can also add drop shadows, glows, 3d effects, etc. etc. and then just copy and paste it into your car template. I'm sure someone will tell us both a better way of doing this and of course there are hundreds of fonts that I don't even know about, but hopefully that will get you started. Ben
  23. 15th in the meeting, 43rd in the National points. Well done on your first win mate!
  24. Downloaded the track on Saturday is that the latest one?
  25. Thanks both, looks like I've got my work cut out... lol
