  1. Just to let you all know i have done it tonight on a quick skin but just to prove it can be done So that was all done using the CorelDraw X4 Full Suite which cost me £35 on ebay brand new. Very easy to use as a vector design software but also has elements which allow you to open templates and work on them. Converted to a .DDS and all work fine. For me it is much cheaper that Photoshop and more familiar. Anyone wanting to maybe do this just let me know i will try and help out as much as i can.
  2. Basically i use it for my Vinyl and T-shirts designs and got quite used to it so it possible to use it for producing skins? I knocked a few up on photoshop a while ago but took for ever as im not used to it.
  3. Problem sorted now just cant drive them any more . So yes dropped the security settings right down and works a charm.
  4. Hi Ben, I saw an almost identical problem on a pc running windows 7 last week and the problem was cured by disabling the UAC (user access controls) - if you're logged in to your pc as administrator then go to control panel and set the UAC to its lowest level (this should basically disable it). The problem is because rFactor automatically modifies some of the files in the game at each stage (when you choose a track to test on, your player file is edited by the game to update latest mod, latest car, latest track etc etc) - the operating system sees this as a security issue and blocks the program from editing the files, hence the game crashes. Try disabling the UAC and then reboot and try the game - if the files are all installed ok for the game (hint - if you can see them in the track select and mod select lists they probably are) then it should be ok with UAC off. good luck, please let us know for future reference.....wrighty Ok thanks much appreciated that rings true as it seams to default back too one of the pre-installed formula everytime. I will give it a go tonight when I get home.
  5. Hi, about 6 months ago i got all up a running ready to race online did plenty of practise but then moved into my new house so no racing . Anyway just got my new PC running as i was on a laptop before, installed everything MOD's wise. Everything seams to work fine selecting cars tracks and the race series, but as soon as i hit load on ether testing or race weekend it just closes back to desktop no error message no nothing. Pc is running - Vista Home 64 Bit - Intel Quad Core i5 3.3GHz - 4GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce GT 420 - Rfactor v1.255 Any help would be great thanks.
  6. Thanks for the help much appreciated, hope to see you out on track soon.
  7. Right guys basically i have paid the full subscription as i used to race a bit on the old Heat mods but want to have another go with Rfactor. Where do i go to register myself in individual formula's i have registered on the site and forum and like i said paid my Membership fee but now im a bit lost. I have been looking for some kind of beginners guide to getting racing but had no such look (Maybe and idea for the future). I have sent an email via the website and sent a PM via the forum to try get some help but still a bit stuck. Any help/guidance would be great.
  8. Is 471 available I know it is down on the list but is that just carried over. If not 470 please.
  9. Right this is my first attempt at a skin after many many years off and now using photoshop. Not sure what my number will be as my account is yet to be sorted so i can register but #471 is my real life race number so. Anyway any comments welcome im not happy with it and struggling with pinstripeing the panels.
  10. Yet thanks it would be using a Windows partition. Need to get PhotoShop sorted aswell.
  11. Hey Guys, Im a returning member to UKdirt back in the days when heat had just taken off. Anyway i have just bought a house and stopped racing for real so thought i would join again as i have been playing rFactor for a while. So is there any kind of guide to setting these beast's up as im totally stabbing in the dark getting there but thought i would ask the experts. I move in next week and plan on running the game on a new PC/Mac (still undecided). I will also be investing in a decent wheel. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Ben
