errm,
have you read the Urgent Message pop up in your last screen shot?!?
also i can see youv got a nVidia G-Force 2, i used to have a G-Force 2 card and that struggled to run Batle field 1942!
-
Try more RAM, youv got 512 at the moment, Battle Field requires 512 RAM minium, so try getting some more, maby adding another 512 to bring the total up to 1024, that would make an improvment, but how much is debateable, and weather its worth the difference for the Price.
If your looking at upgrading memory, be sure to check out this web site as its VERY useful
Also its worth waiting for other people to relpy, and read a few different opions, there are a few people on here that play Battle Field 2 a lot, like Pedz, looking at his score hes played it for just a little while lol

I use 3D max to priview a skin, then you can see your result in 10 seconds rather than converting it and going into the game,
Say your painting a Granada mk2, you have open the granada in 3D Max,
You open up the .tga template, then if you make a change to the skin, you save it as anything, eg "Granny 2 skin" save it as a .bmp to the desktop, then go into Max and put the .bmp on the car, using "diffuse colour" under the maps roll out in the material editor (bring that up by pressing M)
Then once the material is applied to the car, what changes you make while painting the car, save and over write the .bmp file on the desktop "Granny 2" then when it over writes it you go back to 3D Max and the new skin will be on the car, the whole process can be done in 10 seconds, then when your in max you can zoom, rotate and see if it looks good.
Its a lot easier than doing all the mktex business and getting it in the game, but you do need 3D Max,
thats how i do it anyway

errm, yours is different to mine then lol, when i do that it brings all the info about my graphics card,
to see you processer and system RAM,
go to the control pannel,
if your using the "clasic view" double click on "system" thats the PC with the tick on the moniter,
if your using the "catogory view" click performance and maintance --> then system,
The system properties should then pop up, make sure the "Genral" tab is highlighted, then take a screen shot and post it up here for us, then i can say what i recomend

Whats bot 3 or bot 4??
Iv just looked at the specs of BF2 now, there very high,
Depending on how much money you have to spend, update your graphics card, or RAM, as a new top processor will be very expensive, best is to see what graphics card you have, to find out,
right click on empty desktop --> Properties --> Settings --> Advance -->
then, depending on what you have you should be able to see what you have got, post up here what you have,
The simplest (and depending on your system specs could be most effective in comparson to cost) way to upgrade your PC would be to add more RAM

There is a great website about a Chav called "Devvo"

could someone that has this game possible tell me the cheapest way to get it running spec wise and what i need and what is best for it.
thanks alot ,Andy
Its quite a high demanding game, i rember getting Battle Field 1942 on my PC, single player with max people turned the game it so a very slow slide show! but online it was ok,
Before you can think about what to upgrade post up your PC spec, mainly Processor and speed, Graphics card and how much RAM you have,
I had a great graphics card a processer but only 512 RAM, so the RAM was the week point and thats what you upgrade, but that depends on the age of the machine.

Have a look at what i found on Ebay
Some one has taken a Cortina Mk3, givin it a bigger engin, jacked it up, and givin it a discusting PINK Interior!
If you read one of the questions at the end it sums up what i think of the car!
how could somone butcher a car like this?
-
Iv got both, and for me Photoshop is by far the best, when you get a feel for it i find i can do much better stuff in photoshop, and i can make better car skins aswell, if your buying it its more expensive, but there are places you can find it cheeper

Sorry - I left it to long to edit last post
The problem with the wheels may be becasue all 4 wheels are grouped together as one object.
The current one is still a prototype lol (my excuse
)
The second version will have a tire rack and little cool tool box, i will also make the wheels as 4 seporate objects, so the current .tga's will go on them fine,
Im also currently working on my own new 3D wheels, you can see a taster shot on this thred just scroll donw a bit.

Sorghting out the car section is easy,
its the chat thing you want to worry about! thats what i had confusion with
have you got mIRC up and running? thats the talk room we use to meet before and during races.

Team toms skin ta rikard for trailor i couldnt get any tgas to go on the wheels tho :S
Thanks for using the Trailer
The wheels are the normal standard "banger" wheels,
eg the templates are like this
[attachmentid=5576]
You can get loads from everywhere, there a lots on Nick M's great website , once there click on the small picture of a wheel then it will open up the bigger version, save this and apply the texture to the wheel.
Or you can put different wheels on the trailer.
Any problems please let me know

Iv been doing a few tutroirals online,
Iv got a plug in called V-Ray, its really good, you can make some really life like textures and lighting conditions, i made these nice balls to demostrate lol
[attachmentid=5560]
Then i made a cup, and then applied surface to the cup,

To paint a car you need either a program called "Photo Shop" or "Paint Shop Pro" this is because the templates to paint the cars are in a special format that normal programs can't open.
To paint a car you need the template for the car, to get the templates you need to go to the UK Dirt Web site,
On the blue slidy menue on the left go...
Guides --> Skin Painting
The files at the top are folders with all the templates in for that formula, or if you want to download them seporatly then...
scroll down to the template you want, then click on the model name (the bit thats underlined) and that will downlaod that particuler template.

I just need to sorght out the mapping, and maby do another, or soght out susoension for it
when its done il put it up for dowwloading,

If youv spend time and effort making a real life skin submit it, then the more people that can use it the more making it is worth while
