Being a bit of a speedway fan myself, I was at Peterborough for the final cheering on Reading. The place went absolutely nuts when Peterborough got that final 5-1 to win by just the single point. Although my team lost, I was glad I was there to witness a great meeting. I wish I'd been around in the days of the autospeedway meetings. I know it didn't take off but imagine what it could have been like. Profesional drivers each racing for a team. Travelling all round the uk and continent to race. And absolutely masive crowds watching. Funny how speedway bikes don't really cost much more than stockcars and yet the riders are profesional and we pay out huge sum's in pursuit of our hobby. Gonz

Signed. Real shame, I won the first ever race round that track and it holds many fond memories for myself and my team. The effort put in by all to get that place built after loosing the original Roosecote was unbelievable and that alone deserves that the council think again!!!!! Gonz

Sorry to hijack this thread guys, but just spotted this photo and there I am stood in the background. Ahh the memories. Gonzo This one. Haven't a clue why the saloons were facing the wrong way though.

Fantastic new site Kevin and all, keep up the good work. Just one point of constructive criticism, when veiwing the gallery page, due to the large banner photo, you have to scroll up and down in order to see all of the subject photo, which is a little frustrating. Gonz

Yeah but with one of them being at Newport Pagnell, that's rather handy for Northampton!

It was a name given to me by banger driver Geoff Priestly in my spectating days at Aldershot, because I used to wear a hat similar to one worn by Dr Who, Tom Baker, I think it was. That along with my permed hair Oh well, there goes all my ceditbility.

What was that "muppet" in the 441 car up to, letting the 56 car roll him over????????? Say hello to ya Dad for us, Gonz

Might be something to do with Michael coventry's incredible enthusiasm for the racing. He's always there to meet and greet the drivers and have a chat and that goes a long way for me. Makes you feel appreciated.

Guess you haven't heard that they have bought the Taunton track to secure it's future then?!?!? Yeah I blame Splodge too for taking photos of cheap immitation Saloon stox Seriously though, if ever there was a promoter that puts the drivers first, then it's Deane. Spedeworth was a crap promotion when I raced for them 12 years ago but from what I've seen Deane's doing a good job with Spedeworth south. I'm sure him pulling out of Ringwood was unavoidable.

Why have they covered Cowdenbeath with shale then????????? Seriously though, with the wife 8 1/2 months pregnant, I haven't even considered it. Just having a quiet year this year playing on the brown stuff. Gonz

Anyone know the saloon results from the world masters in Ireland, and who, if any, travelled over? Cheers Gonzo

Yeah, I already unzipped them and got three files, a GRD file, an SIG and a TRI file. The only file that opens up is the GRD file which wants to run in photoshop. Any other thoughts? Thanks for the info on Ian. Got friendly with him at the British this year so was a bit concerned. Any rumours/gossip in the pits as to the possible introduction of new rules next year? Cheers, Gonz

Hi Guys I need some help with these video downloads. They always want to open up in Adobe Photo Shop and when I try opening them in a media player, they are unsuported. Any ideas?????? I know, I know, if I'd been there I wouldn't need to look at the vids to see what went on. Was Ian Govier ok? Cheers, Gonz

Can't believe it, we were there with the saloon today, his was one of the cars that stood out in the pits with Beech down the side (don't follow bangers that much). It obviously happened in the last race/dd as all was fine when we left. Absolutely gutted Sincere condolances to all his family and friends from the AMPM team. RIP Phil M
