  1. If I find some time to race these than it'll be with these 2 cars.
  2. Well done to all involved for making the mod as it looks brilliant. It's without a doubt that rFactor's mod and model abilities is another step upwards compared to the DTR days. It's great to see a lot of detail in the models. Things which make it stand out so much like: - the protection hoop on the LF shocker on the Mick Harris car and Ian Noden cars - the extra trailing arms for the brake caliper on the FWJ shale and tarmac car - the difference in wing style for the Mark Woodhull car (not a Taylormade) - the difference you can create be deleting or adding side panels - the different positions of the wings The above all adds up to an almost "real" look of the cars. Also well done to the skin painters (not blowing my own trumpet here as I have done zilch compared to others) and in particular Demonstone. He has created some very realistically looking signs and at times I get the idea that he has nicked them straight away from Brian Evans, lol. I know that it takes a lot of time to create them. Superb intro video, it looks like your watching a professional edited TV/Movie trailer. As for the realism for driving them. Now I got me a gamepad it seems that they are much easier to control (though still a pain to learn them, lol) which only underlines my opinion that it's not a keyboard friendly game. Have to say that it does feel good once you get the hang of it when throwing a car through a bend sideways. Great to see that all the work is done for us free to download and I hope that the replies in this thread give the developers some kind of satisfaction. Dragon
  3. Could someone point out which folders/files need to be deleted from the previous Beta versions? Or are the folders pointed out in the 1st post the only folders that need deleting? Can I just whipe out all what's in those folders or are selections needed? I havent got a clue where all these files are stacked and so I might delete things that have nothing to do with it. Lets say a stupid mans guide to deleting the other Beta versions, lol Thanks in advance Dragon
  4. Great looking bike from days gone by. Love the exhausts
  5. Thanks for the info guys. Got myself a Logitech Rumblepad 2 today. Just done a few laps around Xbierum, Brum and the Vue. First time I managed to do some laps without spinning around. It will take some time untill I am used to it but already notice the difference with the steering and throttle sensibility. The braking is a bit tough though as I use the same cotroller for braking and throttle (is this wise?). The set-up needs some working on as the car is now pushing on like a lunatic, lol. Once again thanks for the advice, look forward for some assistance in a server. Dragon
  6. As the topic says I am in need for some advice. As a die-hard keyboard user it seems impossible to use this rFactor game. This comes more down to the way that it's impossible to controll the throttle while entering and exiting the bends. Therefor I might give it a go with a controller but I don't want a steering wheel. What type of controller would you recomend? It needs to be easy to plug into the computer and works a treat for rFactor. Dragon
  7. Both are Microgramma (like Sparky says). The top text is more stretched while the lower one is narrowed.
  8. Sorry to ask, but where does it say that promotor Harry Maessen asked us to sign this petition?
  9. Quite happy with these ones. A bit too much grain due to the ISO settings but not a bad shot from through the fence [attachmentid=19789] Nothing beats the 4 a breast salute to the fans [attachmentid=19790] Little did we know back in May [attachmentid=19791]
  10. Please don't help this waster!!! I have opened up the 3D file that he has uploaded and the car he has "made" is a ripp off from the BriscaN chassis (made by myself). He has deleted a few pannels and moved things around. I have put both cars next to each other and for about 95-98% they are exactly the same. This is THE reason why I am not a firm beleiver in sharing 3D files or even worse, extruding them from the Heat .car files. There will be a couple of modelers and people on here whom I have spoken to about this and they'll know what I mean. Attached is a screenshot and I'll leave it up to you what you think about it. This is the saddest way of creating your "own" models. Yeah right just rip them off!!! Guys like these are certainly the ones who are able to spoil it for the rest of you good folk. Dragon p.s. the car with the wheels on it is the original BriscaN model p.p.s. I might be wrong but I think the exhausts come from one of MOR's made models
  11. Still need to get in a server for some advice etc. But it's a little diappointing that you'll need a wheel to get the proper controll from this game. That rules those out that aint going to buy one.
  12. Lol your right Yorick, it looks more like Galic to me. Sad to see people post like this, maybe the forum Admin team can do something about it please?
  13. The way I do the pinstriping is like followed as it's all done more or less automatically, no need to draw them by hand. - make sure you activate the layer from the panel you want to pinstripe (just click on it) - select the magic wand tool; - select the panel(s); - now you'll have all the panels selected or just the one you want to use. - then the top menu -> select - now comes the tricky part as I have the Dutch version installed. In the menu there is a sub menu where you can shrink the selecting by a certain amount of pixels. Choose this option and normaly a setting from about 7 pixels will do. Though this depends on how the template is projected on the car (mapped). - when the selection is shrunk, right click with the mouse and select -> outline - Job done Dragon
  14. Aub, I had the same problem yesterday with see through parts on the skin but couldn't fix it. I saved them again today and started up the game and all seemed fine. Here are my skins btw 428_cars.zip
  15. Erhmm, yes I remember you but I haven’t got a clue what you mean by it? Good thing about the overhead pictures and as a guide they work well. When I build the Belle Vue New track I used an overhead picture as well for the general shape but once the track was finished and after racing there with other cars on the track I am the first to say that the track in general could have been made wider. It would have benefited the on-line racing. In the same way I think of Ipswich, nothing against the track, just giving feedback. I am not sure what you mean with that second line about not enough room?
  16. The tracks. I have raced at Ipswich stockcars mainly with a brief spell at Sexbierum. - The tracks feels very narrow and small. Especially when racing with the AI there is hardly any room on the straights. - The shape of the track is good, especially the difference in turns 2 and 4 compared to 1 and 3. - I am not too happy with the start from out of the pitlane. I would love to start on the track straight away. This safes me some speeding credits :-) plus I don’t have to hassle to get on the track first. - In general I like the track but it could be a little bit larger, especially as the real deal is larger as well. You tend to get the idea that you are racing at Buxton imo. The above points are in no way criticism towards its builders but are meant as feedback, just like the topic says. Dragon
  17. Ok here is my first impression about the cars. First of all a big well done to all involved in what appears to have the ingredients in becoming a great mod. - The car detail is very good although from a racing point of view, this is not what is on top of my wish list when I race a game, I just want that the feeling of the car is good (but that’s personal preference). I have always had my graphics turned down so detail is the last thing I need. I have to say though that it’s a nice touch and makes it all look so much better. Especially when you remember them good old DTRSC F1 stockcars (evolution has gone quick eh AndyG, lol) - After reading the comments about the must to race this game with a wheel I think I can safely say that with a few tweaks here and there the cars can be raced with keys as well. I have raced the tarmac car at the weekend and spend some time on the set-up but nothing special. - Top work with the numbers and figures used in the garage mode, it’s like the real deal. The one thing I found missing was cross weight % and the weight distribution on each corner (how much kgs at each point). I think this would make setting the car up even a little easier. I can understand though that this option might not be available in rFactor. - I also like the way the set-up is very limited in contrary to Nascar Heat. The tweaks you can do are little (no 0 to 1000 and somewhere in between is the right number but 0-20). I am sure that this will benefit the competitively with on-line racing as it will come down more to race craft. - The set-up is sensitive and the suspension settings have an immediate effect to its handling. Other settings have hardly an effect when you turn them from one end to the extreme other end (at least that’s the idea I am having when I tried it). For instance the “toe in” option I hardly feel a difference when this is set to -1, 0 and 1. - I am not impressed with the braking from the car though. It is very hard to find the right braking point and get the idea that you’ll have to brake too early to make it through the bend in a good way. Just after the halfway point from the straight I’ll need to stamp the brakes and keep them on until I am into the bend. It might have to do with my personal settings but I don’t have the “feel” that I am breaking hard. It looks more that the car is pushing on and seems to slow down very slowly. I tried several settings but the effect was all the same. - Having not raced on-line I can’t tell how the car handles when it gets hit or gives out a hit. I have raced with the AI though and the car felt a little weird when you hit other cars. I don’t have the “feel” when I hit a car but this might be down to the combination of braking and hitting. - I am using the view behind the car and find this one a little too far away from the car. I know you can alter it by zooming in and all is set ok. But the game doesn’t remember the view you have picked and when you restart the game you’ll need to adjust to this view. I can imagine when you are on a race night it’s not the best thing to do when the cars are rolling on the grid. Plus, you’ll never get the exact same view when you manually zoom in, you’ll get close and it’ll be ok but it won’t be exactly the same. The above is my first impression from the Tarmac car and I’ll do some testing with the shale car once I understand the set-up a little more and am able to control it properly. At the moment Kylie Minoque is doing her thing when I am racing on the shale track :-) The above points are in no way criticism towards its builders but are meant as feedback, just like the topic says. 18. 1st of all well done to all involved. Here a couple of questions as I am not any good with installing etc. - does the mod work with the trial version of rFactor? - where can we download the tracks (link might be usefull)? - in which folder do we need to put the tracks? - in which folder do we need to put the mod and skin? Sorry if those questions have been answered before but before I start messing up my PC I thought it's better to be safe than sorry.
  19. If your Admin duties have been just as dedicated as the way you approached the on-line racing (which I don't doubt for a moment) than it's a loss for the UK Dirt league. Those that have been or are involved in the Admin team know the amount of free time it takes. All "just" for people to have fun behind a PS screen in an on-line racing league. Well done on all the hard work you have done for it, you'll be tough to replace. See you trackside. I already look forward to a chat with you without the words UK Dirt in it, lol (tongue in cheeck m8) Dragon
  20. Nice skin Kruiz. I didn't realise that I haven't released the 97 shale skin. I'll post it up tonight Dragon
  21. Brilliant pictures, capture the moment of impact perfectly. Well done to the photographer. Wether or not it was delibirate. It's things like this that get the fans on the tip of their toes. You would be daft not to say that you are already looking forward to the next meeting where the battling duo/trio might clash and what might happen. In the end it might bring in more punters through the turnstiles. Plus, who are us fans to comment on things like this? We always know way much better than those involved. On many occasions the internet is full of debates about hits, follow ins, etc. etc. It's funny when a driver then comes on the internet and explains the situation or gives his point of view. The result is that it puts many of those posters to shame about what they said. Dragon
